PL Guerilla II 22m

NickinKW - 13-3-2012 at 07:39 PM

Hi folks

All your comments have made me rethink my decision to sell this kite. I simply have not taken the time to get comfortable with it, and considering that I have a small catamaran, I am going to hang onto it and get some fun out of it.

Sorry for tempting those of you who were really considering it.
All the best, Nick

22mm wow :o

I bought one of the very first of these to land into the US way back. Would make a good engine for a kite-boat.

The kite is blue and white, in very clean, nice condition, hardly flown in last 4 years due to busy study schedule. Looking for $200 out of it. Includes kite and collapsible spars, no bar.

Two hundred smackers is a screaming deal on this kite. I think I paid over $1500 for mine and that was with my dealer discount way back when. If I had a small catamaran I'd get this in a heart beat.

Great looking arc here! 22m would get you riding in some pretty light wind

That wasn't my experience. I found the 22 to have marginally more bottom end than a Phantom 18 (which I also had at the time). It is also much slower turning than a Phantom 18. But what it did have was tons of grunt when the wind picked up. As an engine for a DIY kite-boat, I think it would be perfect. Some day I hope to build a kite-boat but if I were to buy a kite right now my wife would severe my lower appendage.

I'd be lucky if that's -all- she severed. ;)

I have one of these big boys...... and like the bigkahuna said its bottom end is so close to the 18m Phantom, (and I will add 18m Guerilla 2, and 19m Venom)...... it is a blast to fly such a big kite.....

You do need a buggy a bit more substantial than a little radbuggy when you have this up in the air... this kite is def a sherman tank buggy kinda kite......

if you don't have an 18m Phantom, 18m Guerilla 2, or 19m Venom or such in your quiver..... this is def an awesome deal to consider......

looks like this would fit Drew's quiver nicely....

Something tells me hes going to have a "little" something in his quiver that would match up ;-)

Hmmmmm sounds like maybe Drew maybe adding an 18m or 24m P2........ nice.....

I wonder if cutting the rear strap loose from the ribs on the center cells and addding adjustment extension to it to let it adopt a lower AOA woudn't help the low wind performance. GII's are pre-set for higher winds and quite a bit of tension across the trailing edge. I did the mod to a 9m GII and lowered the usable bottom end by~3 mph.

I've decided to hang onto it. Please read above.
