HELP!!!!!???

revpaul - 16-3-2012 at 01:40 PM

Hi folks,
i do realize and appreciate you guy/gals are busy getting ready so really no worries if you aren't able to add input.
i am trying to be the proud new owner of KAZEDOKA's(Randy) landsailer.
the problem of course is location, location, location!!!!
Randy is bringing his stuff(including the landsailer) to NABX.

-Jeff at BigKidKites has very kindly offered to help but he is also quite aways away and we really have nothing remotely concrete worked out and i suspect he is travelling pretty heavey as it is. Jeff suggested I just buy the rig now and worry about "it" later and I'm pretty much at that point now.
****Jeff i am absolutely not snubing you!!! if it turns out that i've got no other options and you haul it back to washington and then back to SOBB to meet with me i'm still lucky to have the rig and your help.******
-if i can get something somewhat concrete figured out i will 100% BUY the rig right now and most likely (fly) come down and use it at NABX.
what i need is some shipping/hauling help and/or ideas on how to get it to me.
even if someone has or knows of a box/crate or something to put it in to ship after NABX is great. also if any idea what this rig would cost to ship to me (Alberta Canada) would be helpful.
as of yesterday i have time booked off to go to NABX and have (as of today) asked wife to inquire about flights for the three of us or one of us[me]). driving down is not feasable.
of course...the ideal situation involves getting the rig hauled as close as possible to my residance for pick up second best option is shipped to me after NABX.
third option is...
as macboy suggested , if i can get rig hauled to Oregon(SOBB) we can do a road trip in May long and pick it up then.
if that's the best i can get i'm fine with that.
PLEASE BEAR IN MIND...I am not reqesting any help/time/expertise for free. I do consider this help to be more than a favor and I would not feel right as a person to not reimburse time and effort. Cash or equipment give away, I don't care, your choice.
As long as the price is reasonable I'm fine and happy to have your help.
Crunch time is at hand....i hope there is still rooms available:wee::tumble:
Thanks,
Paul

well thats as close to a snub as one can get with out actually doing it.
What ever any of you can do to help would be great. As for me and the trailer, not a problem. I plan on leaving some stuff there so there will be more than enough room.

revpaul - 16-3-2012 at 03:08 PM

hey Jeff...
honeslty no snub here man. if so please forgive me:no:...... the only hard thing (for me) about having you haul for me (you sure you got room?) is it's a 2 month wait until i get my new toy (when i meet you at SOBB).
that's it...simply; new toy aquisition syndrome.
********For the record i'm going to wait until tomorrow noon-ish and if no other options of getting the landsailer home, sooner than a SOBB pick-up/meet, appear and it's still OK by you then let's get some monetary reimbursement numbers put together.*******
i emailed Randy yesterday and the rig is still available. i told him i was right about at the point i was just going to do as you suggested and buy it. So tomorrow... i'll buy the rig, book a flight(s) and see you all at NABX (and you again at SOBB).
----if flight(s) are a trip killer then I'll meet you at SOBB---.
and again...honestly.... thank YOU very much thus far....:saint:;-)

@revpaul- would it be cheaper for you to fly to say Vancouver and make the drive to Seattle? Just throwing ideas out there.

revpaul - 16-3-2012 at 04:37 PM

heliboy...
you mean fly to Van (BC), rent a vehicle to drive across into Seattle to pick up Manta?
my wife is going to look at flight(s) when she gets home tonight (sooooonnnnn!!!!!!!).
i'll have her check it out.
she has already told me there should be enough air-miles to cover one flight.
now thinking...what do i do with the rig once i get it back to Vancouver(put it on GreyHound)?
i'd might just as well drive to Seattle, no?

revpaul - 16-3-2012 at 05:44 PM

Thanks everyone for your time and effort.
Randy called to discuss letting the Manta go and I agreed it is for the best.
Location, location, location.
No hard feelings (you lucky fella).
I'll be coming down to NABX one of these times.

Damn Paul. One of those moments that it stinks to be on this side of the border hey? I was totally looking forward to a SOBB marathon drive and weekend of play.

Sorry this didn't work out. I would have loved to see you roll this thing.

revpaul - 16-3-2012 at 09:08 PM

yep...location location location.
no worries and the silver lining is i'm super stoked about landsailing (water sailing too) and kiting this year. did almost nothing wind related last year.
Today was still a very good day.
Spencer's 1.6m Ozone Ignition showed up today so after we got the Manta issue sorted and had some pizza we took it out and unrolled it. ("you're going to let me fly it without holding onto the bar this time right DAD?!...right DAD?!"):rolleyes:
wind was gonzo but he actually managed to get it launched and in the air for a few seconds a few times. I stayed at the kite(re-launching help) end and let him have full control of bar/kite. Priceless.
Yep...was still a good day and the Manta is going to a good guy.
don't rule out a SOBB road trip just yet though.

i talked to Daniel at WindLine Sails(Sirocco) about a Sirocco X (i think the same size of a Manta Winjammer but with full(front and back) suspension.
You never know....:crazy::karate::evil:

I have a used Blokart for sale. Shipping with the complete set up is only 125.00 to your front door. Not bad for the cart, masts, full set of sails. and it all fits in one bag.:o
I will even have a couple of new ones with the used one with me at NABX, or should I say the week after at the Blokart World Cup.

Jeff you're killing me(rebound) buddy:singing:
-you ever drive through a state park and see the bears gathering around the vehicles looking/waiting for the imminent treats?
the signs state -please do not feed the bears!!!-
somehow i feel like a bear.:P
****now purely for the sake of other possiblly interested parties :spin: :saint:****
what model is your BloKart and what sails are you including?
-i'm fuzzy on all the available and various types of mast (mix and match mast sections) BloKart offers so what are the mast(s) sections that go with your used BloKart.
a full set of sails sounds cool but i expect (and rightfully so) expensive.

this used model (used one time at Sunset beach and put away for 2 years) is the Comp, powder coated grey, comes with a full set of mast sections, a 4.0m orange sail. He is asking 2595.00, but I would suggest you make an offer. There is also a 5.5m sail in orange for 790.00, again make offer. He also has the Pod in orange and the Shadow attachment. There are also some extra Carbon mast sections and a CRB 3 section mast.
The set is basically NEW but has a bit of surface rust in a few corners that would disappear with some cleaning.
THE COMPLETE PACKAGE IS OVER 5300.00 NEW, AND HE IS ASKING FOR 4800.00
This stuff NEW would be
Comp model and 4.0m sail-2595.00
5.5m sail-790.00
Pod, in orange-503.00
Shadow-1191.00
mast sections-303.00
His asking price is 15% less, but make an offer.
You can see this and others at NABX.
