I have my first ATB flat tire, so have a a couple of tubes ordered. In the meantime I was wondering if you guys have ever "repaired" these 8" tubes
with bike tire Fix-A-Flat? Or have you guys ever used Slime to "seal" your tubes and prevent future flats?

yes i have used all and its so, so OK, most leaks are abrasion so the don't really go away. ESP. the valve stem leaks.
replace it , or patch the tube, bout 20 min. and you are ready to go. plus alot of flats are from tire wear perforations so typically the tire is
spent as well. with tire bead failure usually
the fixaflat stuff works on some and slime as well,, BUT the spin balance is not so good adds weight and vibration at speed. just patch it, and
keep moving.

+ 1 for Slime....great stuff! Works great on Landboards.

I have used slime but I have one tire that constantly leaks the stuff. There can be a little bit of a balance issue but I found that once I get the
tires spinning well the balance evens out. I haven't needed slime in the Flexboardz yet, tack weeds haven't gone deep enough yet. I usually carry a
bike tool and crescent wrench with my gear to help if something breaks down.
I have some "scabs" too but have never tried them.

I used a "scab" on one of the tires on my comp 16 after a goathead got it. Seems to be holding fine.

I had leaky valves (Where the valve meets the rubber).
Used rubber cement and worked great.

had a 'scab' on one of my tires no problem for nearly a year now, I definitely would recommend

Never heard of skabs before now - I'll pick up a pack of those to try. Thanks guys!

We have some cactus where we ride so slime is a must. It is heavy but it works.

i always keep an aerosol fix a flat on hand for just that reason... hasnt failed me yet...

Great info guys! I couldn't find skabs in town so just used a regular bike tube patch kit - seems to be working. I still may pick up some slime and
do all 4 tires (tubes). Balance and weight isn't going to be a problem yet as I'm not brave enough to get moving that fast, ...yet ;-)
