Anyone using a Contour camera?

beachrights - 3-4-2012 at 07:04 PM

Been a LONG while since I have posted- took a break from flying. Glad to see alot of familiar names are still here, and glad to see alot of new ones!

Alright, enough with the sappy BS- Got myself a Contour camera and want to start making some movies- Anyone found a way to mount on a 4 liner?

Also would love to see your vids!

Are you flying static, board or buggy?

What POV are you looking for?

Have seen chest mounts, helmet mounts, shoulder mounts.... and if you have played one too many FPS games...

I use it sometimes on kite's bridle .... Its hard to find right spot but it works.......
Other option is to get small tube .... like pan or something .... feed on power lines thru it ..... 2 stopper bolls ... one on top , one one bottom of tube and locate in desire hight ..... custom made attachment to Contour .... then when riding camera rotates with kite ....... picture is recorded up side down so needs to be rotated when editing ....

Paul

Does this mean that you are giving kiting another go?

Crap, I have got to get my act together! I am asking questions like a rookie again! See what happens when you get out of the loop! Get it... loop,,, out of... Ah forget it!

The buggy mount I have a plan for and Kober, your idea was almost the same as I was thinking! I already have a hollow strut from a kite that is going over the lines. I was going to use a clamp with foam over the camera for protection. Contour lets you rotate the lens so the upside down deal is covered too. I will look into the bolls.

And YES:frog: I am giving this crazy obsession another go!!!!!:wee:
