Power kiters have been invited to participate in a kiting event on the Sunday the 29th. It will be at Nantasket beach in hull. It is a 3-4 mile beach
that faces NE. Low tide is at noonish. The event is scheduled for 10-2, and parking is free till memorial day.
Greg of Seaside kites is hosting the event with the Boston Children's Hospital.
This is unconfirmed, but Greg mentioned something about free pizza and beer after the event for the participants.
I will be there, hope to see some of the local flyers too.rocfighter - 24-4-2012 at 12:09 PM
Man I really want to go to this. But it's a long drive from here for just a day. I think it's 3-4 hours each way for me. If it was two days I would be
there. But I may suprise every one and show up anyway!AviN - 24-4-2012 at 12:23 PM
3-4 hours is a lot ?? for a cool whole family day ??
Man, wish I had that time frame, try 18 hours...now that's SUCKs
Oh well....seems like all events are so far from here......buggydanny - 24-4-2012 at 01:28 PM
@rocfighter It should be the same drive time for you as it is to Nahant. Check the weather on Saturday and make your decision then.
@Avin If there are really no event close to you, then you should create one. But I am sure that there are some single line/sport kites events in your
area. Contact the organizers and see if they want to add traction kiting to the mix.AviN - 24-4-2012 at 01:34 PM
buggydanny ,
Tried to contact, I had no responds or almost no interest.
To create one here, will probably leave me with my friend as the only one to show :D
The problem in Chicago is that there are almost no really big areas you can kite here, everything is out in the far suburbs or closer states (WI, IN
or MI), which I dono so much about...
Looks like every hobby I like, has no friends in my close area buggydanny - 24-4-2012 at 01:56 PM

They probably have little first hand interaction with traction kiting and are afraid of the unknown. Try to meet up with them when they practice. Show
them what its about and offer them a go at it. Who knows they may like it and want to include it in their event; you may end up with a few more
flying buddies also.

Perhaps, there is nothing wrong with starting small. However I have often heard Cheezy often say "Post it and they will come" if you announce an event
you may be surprised by the turnout.

Ask around (PKF would be my first choice) and you will find some spots. I am sure that there is a suitable venue within a 0-3 hour drive.rocfighter - 24-4-2012 at 02:06 PM
Danny I will check it out. Last time we went up to Gregs shop it seemed to take forever. But it has been a few years.
Avin there is also PowerkiteforumFB this may bring in some other responses.doublespeed360 - 26-4-2012 at 05:21 PM
I MAY MAKE THIS ONE TO.hope the wind is good to me .paulrocfighter - 28-4-2012 at 07:45 PM
So the wind is predicted to be 10-20 WNW. I have a 2.5 hour drive at least. I think I'm heading out early and seeing how it goes. Low tide at noon I
hear. I hope to be there by 10am. But we all know how that goes!!
