Ever had one of those days

So my wife and kids went out to the Zoo with my in-laws and since I didn't have to be at work until 3:00 its a perfect day to take the bug out to my favorite spot right?... nope

My favorite spot is where the have the North GA fair,... or shall I say where they park all the cars for the North GA fair,... AKA Jim R Miller park, but no,... the circus is in town... rats.

Well, no big deal, I'll just go to that big huge soccer park 20 minute away... a little less space, but I'll make it work.

I get there and find a good spot, check the wind speed. Its not too fast, but I'm still learning the bug, so I'll stick with 3m. I get all set up and the wind poops out,... well, maybe I'll get the 5m out after all, ... pack up the 3m and go get the 5m,... as I'm walking out to get set up,... the wind starts blowing harder than I feel it would be wise to use the 5m,... back to the truck and get the 3m again,... get it BACK out and set up and the wind poops out AGAIN,... well I'll try anyway... BLEH. Blasted inland winds.

I fight it for a while, and think, well I suppose I should go get out the 5m,... but wait,... what time is it,... rats time to pack up and go to work. Blasted responsibilities and good work ethic.

It was much too easy to live to fly another day today,... but I could have just stayed home and took a nap. Bummer day.

Can be very gusty and disturbed at home too. I've had many sessions where I've either been fighting to keep the kite in the air or motionless in the buggy waiting for the next gust. And changing kites only to have the wind die off proportionally to how big a kite I'm trying to fly!!! I feel your frustration! It makes the good days seem magic though...

I used to take "sick" days from work. However, it was soon realized that those always landed on windy days.. Hehe.
Luckily my employers love me and since Ive been the most efficient in my particular job, they don't care. So now my "sick leave" has been officially named "wind leave". :wee:

I've been threatened w/ being made "part-time",if I don't work at least 40 hrs more consistently. LOL

yeah, it can get sticky sometimes, but its a pretty cool gig.

... I think I just need to get over the 5m anxiety,... we'll get there.

i had a crap wind day on saturday if it makes ya feel any better

winds were 10-15ish gusting up to about 40...... i wouldve skipped but man, it seemed to be 25-30 most of the time, just with drops and spikes.... lmao the phantom got a workout! standing still to 100yard powerslides on the grass! Really wanted to ride the atb but with the punchy winds i figured jumping was a bad idea!
