:dunno: does anyone actually care about the Olympics? IMHO it's nothing but a commercial #@%$#!-fest.

... I bet windsurfers will be pissed about the loss of perceived prestige though :moon:

Ask the snowboarders this question ! They went from being banned to having special parks thanks to getting Olympic status.

I think this is HOOJ! IMHO It is becoming more and more clear to me that I am marching to a different drummer ?

Kiteboarding will eventually get some respect and closing our spots will be less popular.

Having lived through 2 Olympics I have seen the Legacy they leave to sports in the cities that support them. It put Calgary firmly on the map. A destination for training now.

Sounds pretty cool to me!

However, I must say,... yes the Olympic are pretty boring,... maybe it will spice things up some!

Yeah but ... I bet as snowboarding became more popular, it would have forced its way into prominence by sheer weight of commercial value. It's cheaper than skiing too ...

The cities that support them MAY be better off ... but there's any number we can list that aren't.

No, to hell with the Olympics - it's lost its way.

Sorry guys, I like when people come up to me and say "Wow, did you just jump out of a plane" or "If you're not careful that thing is going to take you off your feet"

Next thing you know Walmart will be carrying power kites...
