Ok, so in the last year, I've pretty much gone crazy crack addict style over kiting, I'm sure you can relate.
You know, ...spent a lot of money, joined a forum, on the computer when I'm not at the field flying, ... it consumes all the free thought... as I
said, I'm sure you can relate.
So amidst my own blossoming addiction, my dear sweet wife was honing her own. She has gotten into scrapbooking,... no not just stickers and fancy
paper, we're talking all out paper craft insanity,... with machines, apparatus, paint, glue, pens, etc. etc. etc. and a majority of a room in the
house devoted to it,... and what's more, she BLOGS about it ( http://purplemailbox.blogspot.com/ if you're interested), and has gained some notoriety in the scapbooking world,... man, she's even been
PUBLISHED in an e-book,... we are talking online class taking, chatting, blogging, twittering, picture posting insanity. (I must say I'm proud of her
for the book though).
It's borderline epic.
So we ALL know what your addiction is,... what about your wife (or significant other),... what kind of "kiting" does she (or maybe he) do?
ps. she also blogs about gardening and knitting, but she's not as bonkers over that stuff.mougl - 11-5-2012 at 05:32 PM
I got lucky, Sheskas kite is a kite she flies vipers. 2.6, 3.9, 5.3heliboy50 - 11-5-2012 at 05:45 PM
CeCe has a 1.7 sting and will sometimes fly some bigger stuff. Her biggest thing is is craft stuff especially making all kinds of bead necklaces.
She will spend hours going through thrift stores and clearance racks to find beads she likes.WELDNGOD - 11-5-2012 at 05:58 PM
Her first was a !.7m sting. Now that I fly PKDs,she has laid claim to my 2.2m Buster soulfly. Handles only, and she can fly it very well too.:wee:thanson2001ok - 11-5-2012 at 06:15 PM
All my kites are my wife's. I bought them for her.
She is very generous and lets me use them anytime I want.
Yup.soliver - 11-5-2012 at 06:15 PM
Just to be sure we're all on the same page,... aside from you lucky guys whose wives are into ACTUAL kites,... I'm using "kites" as a metaphor for
addiction, so...
What is your wife's addiction...
and no, not booze or crack,... you know what I mean,...pokitetrash - 11-5-2012 at 06:33 PM
Shopping. Actually its "....you bought a kite! " shopping. Grudge shopping.Cheddarhead - 11-5-2012 at 06:48 PM

Yup.
I'm with you Todd..."Just bought you a kite hunny, can I borrow it"?
But seriously, my wife is REALLY into the DJ/Karaoke thing. Has her own business with all the equipment, been doin it for 14 years. She is such a
people person and really enjoys it for a hobby. Just wish I had 5 dollars for every piece of equipment I hauled over the years, I could have a quiver
of FlySurfers!Drewculous - 11-5-2012 at 07:22 PM
Reading... My wife reads! Got her a kindle a few years ago and its pretty well attatched... She also loves to travel, but travel is spendy, so she
has way more books ("e" and traditional)
I dig the travel too, but I like kites more... So we travel to jibe lol! She gets her fix, I get mine!Scudley - 11-5-2012 at 08:32 PM
Dusty's kite is pretty much one size smaller than what I'm flying. She also blogs about knitting.

Scrapbooking is her yin to my yang.soliver - 11-5-2012 at 09:06 PM
Bob, you're originally from TN right,... is it a southern girl thing or what???
Additional info to the original post,... Ashli would like for me to let you all know that yes, I have gotten her to fly a kite,... I strapped her onto
the beamer and she gave it a go,... I'll get her more into it on the beach in a couple of weeks,... then maybe she'll REALLY get it. SCRAPPING BE
D@MNED!!!! ... and yes she is very supportive of kiting
and also, she is a little OCD about watching google thing that tells you who is on your site and how long and where they're from,... she's already
told me about how many hits she's gotten via PKF HAHAHA

My wife reads a lot. The past year or better she's been big about this fan fiction phenom. Writers taking characters from movies (big one is twilight)
and writti g short stories with those characters. I can't really think of Nything else she does.stetson05 - 11-5-2012 at 09:27 PM
My wife's is crafts too. Embroidery, painting, some scrapbooking, and lots of paper type crafts. She will buy a $20 dollar book of paper and just
tears the pages out for the patterns. When she lets me buy a kite it is because she wants to get something comparable. It works out though cause I
get a kite and basicly she makes all the gifts she would ever give out and has even sold stuff to stores for them to sell.BeamerBob - 11-5-2012 at 09:36 PM
Yes Soliver. She grew up in NC, got into scrapbooking in TN. It's great because it makes us better about taking pictures whenever we do something.

AHA! i knew it!!!
Well, Ashli and I met in art school, so we have both always been artsy fartsy people,... for her its more about the process than the pic,... she could
probably make a scrapbook page with a picture of fish heads look cool.:singing:
lord knows she's done a few about my kites,... those just HAD to be cool.
but she's still a nerd.pbc - 12-5-2012 at 08:59 PM
At my house the spousal vice is tennis. 5-6 days a week is normal. My son is pretty well hooked as well, but he only has a 2-3 day/week habit.Feyd - 13-5-2012 at 04:17 AM
I'm feelin' pretty lucky. My wife flies everthing I do.WELDNGOD - 13-5-2012 at 06:39 AM
My wife's addiction is..... are ya ready for this? FISHING! I took her offshore fishing ONCE, and she caught a sailfish... Now she's a full blown
fishing nut. She always liked to go fishing, but now she CRAVES it.soliver - 13-5-2012 at 09:03 AM
WG,... that's pretty freekin' coolbigkid - 13-5-2012 at 09:53 AM
I don't know if I would like a wife that fishes, unless I liked it to. WG, you better not throw that one back.
Renee has a Kindle and the Kindle Fire, she goes through a book every 3 to 4 days. Now that she has a motorhome, we have to GO a couple times a
month. As long as I can drive it on and off the beach at Sunset and others, she is happy to let me go along. I watch the addiction grow as the
upgrades are coming faster and with more expense. Can we put a washer/drier in the RV, or should we buy a newer Coach with one already in it? I wish
she was into scrapbooking
But I wouldn't trade her for nuthin, anything you want my love. heheheWELDNGOD - 13-5-2012 at 10:51 AM
Jeff. I love to fish. just not as much as I like kiting.
