2.8 m PKD Century II "soulfly"

WELDNGOD - 12-5-2012 at 12:05 PM

This kite looks awesome just sitting on the ground ! It is very well built,and has some sexy lookin bridling too.It is of "racekite "quality for sure. Plenty of power for a 2.8m ,but not overpowering upwind like my combats. It is a very responsive kite, and it loves to be flown "euro" style(by brakes).
I used it at Wildwood Buggy bash(see videoes from WBB) and put it out for demonstration ,only a few took it for a spin. And once the wind picked up,it was MINE!
It makes a great buggy engine. I logged 47 miles and a top speed of 33.2mph at WWBB with it. It is a very maneuverable AND racey kite! I have not tried it on a x-over bar yet ,when I do ,I will update this post.

I highly recommend ;-)The Cent IIs,if you are looking for a bit more power in a FB,without going to a full out racekite.

Fly safe,ride hard! WG:wee::ninja::wee:

I had the 2.8m Century II for a while but it wasn't quite my thing. Certainly one hell of a kite though. I put it on the Ozone Turbo bar, but the turbo bar did not provide enough front line input and I often ended up stalling half the kite when turning so I put it back on handles. Let us know how you find it on a cross over bar.

Hey WG...how does it compare to the Reactor II's? And also the Combats (differences and similarities)? Thanks.

Oh...and whose the distributor in the states?

WELDNGOD - 13-5-2012 at 11:03 AM

LB I only had the one Reactor II, an 8.6. So,I have limited flying time on one. The Cent IIs are alot more stable and easy to fly than a combat. the aspect ratio is 4.7 for a Cent II and 5.5 for a Combat. The side pull is alot less with a Cent II over a Combat,but a Combat will go faster than the Cent. As far as the U.S. Distributor goes... Jeff @ Big Kid Kites is the N.American Distributor! http://www.pkdkitesusa.com/

I need to try one of these Cents out on the playa. I have lots of RII experience so I can offer some perspective. I've been hearing about them for years and have never flown one.

Had a trailer full of them at NABX. Could have even picked red or blue to fly.
