proper control bar

Looking for input, I am hopefully getting a 2009 12m ocean rodeo rise(ko) soon and am wondering if I have to get an ocean rodeo bar, or any bar? Also, what would be the right bar and line lengths. Thanks for any help.

You don't HAVE to ... but set your mind at ease - all the safety functions will work as they should and the bar is tuned to match the kite.

Man I just don't get why people stingy out and mix'n'match bars ...

I have the same 09 12M and it is my go to kite. I like it better than the newer models because it has a center strut. The Rise comes with kook proof pigtails that go on the back lines (not the bridle lines). If you have these then you can use a bar that is front lines and back lines the same length. The kite is designed for both front line safety. I have the 2010 SLE 3.0 bar and like it. The below the bar trim can be a bit of pain to adjust but I just use the long throw of the bar after I set the trim once.

Sometimes you mix-and-match because you don't like the original bar and lines or didn't have total faith in it.

In some cases, it is the exact opposite of "stingying out".
