Whats you primary kiting activity ????

Kober - 17-5-2012 at 11:46 AM

.... I am assuming it will be buggy ..... lets see....

Vote above .......

ragden - 17-5-2012 at 11:47 AM

How do you define "primary"? Is that the one you do the most, or the one you like the most (in the off chance that they may not be the same)?

Just curious for your definition.
;)

Kober - 17-5-2012 at 11:49 AM

You right ,,,,, lets vote on that ..... lol

Good point ...... I think it should be about what we love to do .....

cheezycheese - 17-5-2012 at 12:03 PM

Forum watching is not an option...??? :puzzled:

ragden - 17-5-2012 at 12:19 PM

Snowkiting is by far my favorite activity, but I spend most of my time kiteboarding. Course.. until I hear from the doc tomorrow, I cannot do either.. so.. meh.

Kober - 17-5-2012 at 12:31 PM

....... I am sure if you buy some nice gift ......he will let you fly soon ....lol..... good luck my friend .....

Scudley - 17-5-2012 at 12:36 PM

You don't have "trying to make the most out of the usually crappy local wind" as an option.

Kober - 17-5-2012 at 12:44 PM

I probably do more thinking about kiting and reading about kiting the actually doing it ...... so that is missing on poll too ...lol.....

Just in case Spartan drops in ...... sorry ..... I forgot about Coyotes .... and don't know how to add it now .....

B-Roc - 17-5-2012 at 01:37 PM

Someone doing a little marketing for Gin :puzzled: or just curious :P

markite - 17-5-2012 at 01:57 PM

But it changes through the year..
winter - primary kite ski/snowboard - could be ice buggy if we get the conditions
spring and fall for a few weeks - buggy
late spring to mid fall - surfing
no wind days - answering kite polls

Kober - 17-5-2012 at 02:48 PM

sorry B-roc .... but I did many polls before becoming team rider ... I just think they are fun and informative ..... and I don't see anything that would Gin benefit from ....

..... and yes .... I am sure there will be Gin specific polls in future ........

bigkid - 17-5-2012 at 03:09 PM

I wasnt able to find, buggying for just buggying, with out any specifics.:puzzled:
if you put in "non of the above" I would mark that.

Bladerunner - 17-5-2012 at 04:43 PM

Tough one for me ?

My #1 enjoyment comes from snowkiting but I am lucky to get 6 sessions in a year.

My #2 is Coyote rollerblades. As close to snowkiting as I can get.

Due to the convenience I probably get as much or more time on the ATB as anything.

Then of course I enjoy my buggies as well... ? :ticking:

shaggs2riches - 17-5-2012 at 09:47 PM

Nothing like having all the space in the world snowkiting that's why I so look forward to it. Otherwise I would say that I love kite atb the most for the warmer days, but I've ran out of places to ride, other than downhill.

Feyd - 18-5-2012 at 03:37 AM

Ahhhhhhhh jeeze, now it's all just getting confusing. Mark has a point. And I'm a snowkiter but is that because I love to ride snow or is it because it's what is most available here where I live?

If I had kick ass water or a place to buggy maybe those would be my favorites? I dunno, I like snow a lot though.

Also, just to be a pain, you specify different disciplines of buggy but not snowkite or kitesurfing (freestyle, speed, racing)?

Hehehe just being nit picky. Feeling frisky this Friday

furbowski - 18-5-2012 at 07:03 AM

Static jumping still the main after four years of it, ATB when conditions allow...

canuck - 18-5-2012 at 10:44 AM

I added a vote for snowkiting since we usually can get it somewhere around here from November through May. Looks like this season could extend into July with record snowpacks in the alpine meadows but I am too lazy to hike 2 hours to get into Sunshine meadows (see Great Divide cam) after the gondola closes.

I often find myself out on Coyotes or an ATB when snowkiting is still an option out of town but the sports fields in town are bare & brown. Have'nt found space to buggy and kiteboarding is a 2 hour drive south.

Cheddarhead - 18-5-2012 at 01:19 PM

Snowkiting is the majority of my activities due to the amount of lakes we have around here. Buggying is soon to be second if I can just finish building mine.

Kober - 18-5-2012 at 07:49 PM

Wow ...... very close ..... ATB=Buggy=Snow=Water ..... looks like we have balanced mix of kiters on PKF .... I was wrong thinking that buggy lovers dominate PKF

djinnzfree - 19-5-2012 at 05:04 AM

buggy + skis + static freesyle(2line) + revo(4line) = kite for me

Feyd - 19-5-2012 at 05:25 AM

I agree Kober, I thought for sure that there would be a lot more buggy response given the amount of buggy discussion that goes on here on PKF.

I suppose it could seem that way because the buggiers discuss the buggy thing more? It's definately a little more organized.

doneski - 19-5-2012 at 06:06 AM

Now you need a survey for what you like the most. For me its snow kiting. Its how I started and what I love but I get to buggy more frequently these days.
Snow kiting means going for speed whereever the wind takes you. Race with friends and if you fall it doesn't hurt. Buggying on a beach is fun but wind direction relative to the beach determines if you have fun or constantly tack plus beach walkers and dogs and texture of the sand keep me from going as fast as I'd like. Sand is not fun to wipe out on.

MMMmmm corn snow on ice with 15MPH wind. nice............

SecondWind - 19-5-2012 at 01:12 PM

Dirtsurfer here

rocfighter - 19-5-2012 at 02:01 PM

I voted race buggy. But I just really like to buggy. Not really racing, and not freestyle. Just buggy.

soliver - 19-5-2012 at 03:17 PM

I voted freestyle bug, but I'm really just into cruising right now,... or maybe you can just call it "learning how to make the buggy go"

erratic winds - 19-5-2012 at 03:47 PM

there we go buggy takes the lead, finally. Nice to know there are so many fellow ATB'ers on though

Kober - 19-5-2012 at 04:02 PM

.... and Dirtsurfer ..... I did not expect that ....

aarde landings - 19-5-2012 at 05:35 PM

there seems no better place for a 1st post but here. looks like we all just love throwing that kite in the air.

to me it looks like we'll use whatever is suitable to gain momentum on the surfaces presented to us.

personally i reckon it's only the age/ fitness that decides from buggy or ATB.

good winds
