Thanks Guys I sent out some contacts. I hope this goes better than last time!!

Hope you get something sorted out. I'll still keep and eye out until you post back that you have hunted something down.

Strange things turn up in the middle of the night, during insomnia driven Internet forays. :o

Do you have a price range, brand preferences or KO/RTF preference?

depower under 7m or so really isn't much DEPOWER, falls more into the category of trim on a unit that small. esp. 3-4m

effective depower below 7m is marginal , i have an lei 6m and if trimmed for unhooked is too much then it may not be safe even to go outside (for my size) that like a gale +20

if its for a small person serious consideration for safety in general. 3-4 m is small and some trainer stuff in practice wind does have its place.

the only reason you might want a depower is relaunch ease for a smaller rider which may be still outside of reasonable safe practice.

... for blistering fast units with low drag in heavy air it will give access to excessive speeds for sure.

In the world of LEI, smaller doesn't necessarily mean better top end. You'd be much better off with a 7m LEI. Sometimes you'll find that a 7m will have a usable wind range beyond a 5m for example.

5m Warro maxes out in wind speeds of 40mph. 7m Hydra maxes out at 63mph wind speeds. + a tiny LEi in high winds will be like a wasp on steroids and soak up less in the gusts.

Don't bother with a 'C' if you're using it in the buggy. Although they are great to downloop to powerslide, they run out of depower very quickly and thus attain slower top speeds. Go for a modern 7m bow kite. Safe and fast.

Thanks guys for the info. I am rethinking this whole high wind thing:ticking:. The bows are flatter and there fore absorb better I assume. :wow:

The seller of the auction Kober posted is notorious for pulling auctions at the last minute if they don't hit the price he wants, so don't get your hopes up if you see a low price towards the end of the auction. Several friends and I have all had our bids cancelled at the last second by this seller.

Also, his shipping price is consistently severely inflated and his reasoning is something along the lines of 'it's posted so figure it into your total cost when bidding.' I've shipped many kites and have never paid more than $35 dollars for shipping via UPS ground, and the majority of the time it is ~$25.

Here is another small LEI that is complete with bar and lines:

I've seen that one flown in person and it is pretty much the same as the Ocean Rodeo Rise 2m Trainer and the Ozone Uno.

The sticker shock upon noting the shipping costs was akin to getting hit with a frozen side of beef. :o

Tip- if the ebay seller is selling items that are not kite-sport related for a majority of the items they sell, take your business elsewhere.

It doesn't seem to end well.

ie: I would buy painting and paving supplies from that ebay seller, but not a kite.

FURTHER TIP- my high wind wing is a 5m inflato. It is VERY FAST and frankly, makes for some 100% focus flying. No slacking! Full attention! Lesson learned, and my next high-wind will be a 6m foil, and if that ain't small enough, I'll call it a day!
