Hey gang,
I just picked up kiting during my kids April school vacation via a couple of two line stunters and I'm hooked. Really psyched to get flying a foil and
have a Rush pro IV 300 and a flexifoil Sting 1.2 on their way to me courtesy of Samolot.
I can't believe how quickly I've become obsessed with watching the winds effects and trying to apply the Beaufort scale. Thankfully, I live on Cape
Cod and the winds here tend to be in the 3-4 range most of the time.
Not sure where my flying will take me, starting out static, but those buggies, boards, and jumps sure look like fun. At least I'm enjoying the ride.
Great winds to you all!

Welcome to the forum!
My learning curve started with watching the wind obsessively!
Take care and be careful when you see trees waving while you drive... by and want just one more look!
Get to know your conditions, local spots, and winds, then you'll have a much better idea what to get into further...
Wind will pick up in winter... Summer is quiet light wind most places, but not always.
Enjoy the learning curve, lots of folks willing to help here if/when you have questions...
Your wallet's on its own though... good luck to you and buy used off the forum if $$ are an issue.

Hey Sailor,
Welcome to the world of wind worshipping...
Funny you should mention Beaufort...
As we progress into this world of wind and the effects it has on our environment...
(now I know this is going to sound dry and tedious, but you gotta trust me here...)
A biography of Sir Francis Beaufort by Scott Huler, called "Defining the Wind" is heartily recommended.
I found it a few years ago and it rocked my world... What a story!
If you notice and become attentive to the wind, this is a wonderful insight.
How it came about and the profound impact this man had on his world... Our world!
Keep flying, my friend.
Safen Up! Buggy On!
