In France, first try of the MG Aéro, with Gin Tonkawa

Great ! BUT :
upwind, not used to ride this "fast", I was pushing on the side-bar when a hole, under my wheel under wind, made me brake a rib !!
I am recovering now, and after one month being race-master, I will go back to follow this king a ride !!

After reading few posts on European forums ...... I know .... I will not be disappointed ... and I seen those in action on WBB event ..... One of Canadians have 5 and 15 .... and he likes them a lot ...
You know way more about race kites ...... Thats why I look for reviews from people like you !!!!!..... advance kiters with lots of experience ....

Nice place to ride. Smooth and long. Great video too.

what's great with tonkawa, is the way you can manage gust and get the kite faster after ! upwind great great, downwind, it is less important.
For a race kite, the gap between 2 kite sizes is too important for top pilots, but for me (and my bank account) it's better, I have 3 ; 4 ; 5.4 ; 6.8 ; 8.7 and 11.5, and I can ride with wind from quite nothing to 20/25 knots.

The place on the video is quite technical, a "road" with hole on one side, and water on the other, and going from one bank to the other is very interesting !

Alexis (the one with the go pro on the helmet) will get his revange tomorrow !!! the rib is hurting less !!!

Just to make sure I am seeing this right. The person who's perspective this is , is flying a PL Vapor or Reactor ? With a white and black bottom. You are in the other buggy with the Lime kite ?

P.S. Yet another great video showing how different most folks hold / use their handles / brakes in Europe.

and some great buggies... :eekdrull:

..... any footage from revenge run ????

tototo - 10-6-2012 at 01:06 PM

Footage are on the computer for making the seeing fun !!!

I am in the MG aero buggy with the tonkawa lime and white (4,1m²)
The young boy (in the french team for the word championship) with vapor (4,5m²)

Yesterday about 27 knots, with gust, tonkawa 3,1 was in front of the reactor 2 3,5 ; but then afraid of hearting me again the rib, I'd prefer to switch to reactor 1 2,9m², and he switch to bora 3m², he was back in front of me !
We were 10 to 12, riding on the beach (25 km long), and then a "race" circuit to get fun ! start upwind, tack, another tack, upwind => reaching => downwind and a biggggg jibe, a faaast downwind, and lonnnnggg tack, and the 2nd lap !

We will get a last round ;-) next time !!!!

MG aero with the tonkawa, make something great :D
