Curious to know if this would be a good deal? $175 shipped

8m 2000ish offbrand LEI Kite - bar/lines/bag
12.2m 2003/2005 Cabrinha Blacktip Dart - bar/lines/bag
15m 2003/2005 HB Cabarete - bar/lines/bag

Worth even dealing with or just old kites. Not really in the market but thought I'd get another opinion.

From the age of those kites, I'd say they are better left alone. I seem to recall reading somewhere that the Cabrinha Black tips were quite a brutal kite with no good to come from them. But I could be wrong about that. Not sure about the other two, but again age of them tells me to let em go. Maybe someone with more of a veteran status than I can give a better idea of what you are looking at here.

I'd consider the kites and bars no value but you can evaluate whether you can use the lines and maybe use parts off the bars to put together a modern bar(s) with current safety devices. Kites have come a long way since 2005 and these aren't as good as 2005 kites.

Hey Kevin,
IMO, Save your money and go for a 2007-2008 kite. They are the best bang for your buck. 2005 is when flat kites came out, and they sucked. Then 2006, they were better, but heavy bar pressure. 2007 they figured alot of the problems out. 2008 most kinks fully gone. It was an exponential curve that has flattened out since 2008. Don't get me wrong, new kites today are sick, but 2007 are cheap and work really well!

Beamer,
"Jinks"!

Folks around here have been known to cut those kites up to keep them out of the wrong hands. Honest !!

Spend a little more for 07 or newer. Kites really did get better by then.

wow, I knew some of them weren't worth the bother, but that's saying something!
I've got a 2006 Naish SLE which was a decent 9m to start on, but I'll go 2008 and newer for my future kites.

Ya I was thinking more for land boarding and to beat up, but going to pass. Thought I'd better get more experienced opinions first. Thanks for the info.

Although I am in need of 27-30m lines.....hmmm will post in the wanted section.
