Buggy on Long Island

soulflyr - 30-5-2012 at 04:12 AM

Looking at the south coast. I often go to Islip and usually bring my sport kites to Robert Moses. I always fly after hours, 6PM on.

I brought the buggy once, but got nailed by a federal ranger before I got it off the rack. I was wondering if they a little more leanent on the other beaches?

There have been several successful sessions at Long Beach. Aside from public considerations, it is dependent on a south wind to ride there. But if you get that south wind nice long runs are in store...
When are you coming....?

Hey Cheezy,
Not sure yet, just getting ready if I have to go down short notice.

Where do you park on Long Beach. I think that is the only beach I haven't been on yet down there.

On the street. There are little inlets with parking spots every few blocks

I would take a shot at Lido Beach Park after 6pm. ..Wide open beach not many people. It's a town of hempstead not a state park also a south wind ride

Hey Soulflyr! We've been riding Long Beach all winter and have had many great sessions there on a S/SSW wind. (Check vids in my sig)

Now that the bathing season is back on LB may be tricky- definitely a no go before 6PM, but probably too busy to be safe even later than that.

I've never been to Lido but would be up for a session if conditions are good. Let me know if you're heading out- I'm in Ronkonkoma, so not that far.
