Flysurfer safety stick

distort - 11-6-2012 at 02:02 PM

So the other day I was out on the water and I had the stick on the chicken loop for my unity snap in half on me. I left a message with flysurfer usa maybe 2-3 weeks ago, and have called several times after but it always goes to voicemail. I also tried contacting flysurfer in europe and they still have not gotten back to me. The other day I also tried John over at powerzonekitesports but I haven't heard back from him.

I was wondering if someone on here might be able to point me to somewhere that can provide me with a replacement part.

John at powerzone should be good to help you unless he is really busy. Which happens to the best of us. He has been good to me on a couple occasions. Did you give Flysurfer Canada a try??? Otherwise I'm sure someone else will chime in with another contact. Good Luck!!!!!

Yup - worth giving John a good reply window. Feel free to shoot him a "don't mean to bug you" email. Happy to have met him in person - a real stand up guy.

The Flysurfer world is a different one no matter who you're dealing with. I don't know why that is but in my experience it's always been the least likely to just come running to serve you. Really, really don't understand why but it's consistent in my experience and from what it sounds like, yours. Of course that time I called the local distributor leaving a message saying I was about to buy a SA2.5 I got a call back in 10 minutes......

Just saying.

We actually had a very active member on here that was all about FSers but he progressively got more and more commercial/sales-pitchy with his posts and has since quieted right down...perhaps he was "spoken" to.

Hopefully one of them gets back to you. John has always been good help to me. I also seem to remember being able to buy an after market DonkeyD that attaches to your spreader bar and locks in the chickenloop that way.

Try

and see if that will help. It might get you by until you get a real fix too. Good Luck!

I've had the opposite experience - fast replies to emails from both John and FSer ... maybe your email address is getting blocked by spam filters?

Hey,

Not a FS product, but I do carry replcements that are velcroed to the your CL. I'm in Mexico until the week end, but if you send me your address I'll drop one in the mail for you.

yea i summer can be hit and miss for getting ahold of me and other outdoor folks.... several vacations and trips as well as very good local activities and kiting. email is the best since sometimes folks can talk so fast on voicemail and i can't get the number and message straight.

keep in mind folks, that most dealers or small shops dont exclusively do the kite-thing full time... I/we have other jobs, lives, and families that take priority over kite gear. its not like we're sitting around waiting for the email or phone to ring . just be patient and if needed, a reminder correspondence is never frowned upon.

after i got back into town, i hooked him up with a new Chicken Stick. he's all good now.

Yeah John actually got back to me pretty quickly, I was just a little frustrated that I still have not heard back from FS. Either way thanks for the responses guys!

actually, mine went a while back too. I haven't been too concerned about replacing it but should get it replaced eventually though. Just curious what the actual FS replacement is cause the first one was attached by sewing to the chicken loop. Is it a velcro replacement?

powerzone - 16-6-2012 at 09:26 AM

for the Infinity 1.0 loop we would need to re-sew some new tubing into the black nylon link. make it just like "factory" so you could barely tell it was replaced.

the ChickenStick discussed here was for a Infinity 2.0 setup. of which i have 1 left in stock .

kitedelight - 18-6-2012 at 01:39 PM

ah, gotcha, thanks. I was thinking that was necessary for the setup on the chicken loop. Good to confirm though.
