A video by Cliff Baker with whom (I rarely get to use the word whom, sounds a bit weird now I say it) I flew out to Ivanpha with, taking our buggies
with us for some serious buggy action.
Unfortunately the winds were on the low side with plenty of sucker winds thrown in, but, and I'm sure I speak for Cliff when I say we had a fantastic
few days on the Playa. What a stunning location.

WOW! That was a sweet video! It doesn't get any better than that, thanks for posting that great time.
BeamerBob - 13-6-2012 at 06:58 AM
Oh man! I didn't even know you were here. Had I known, I would've come out and ridden with you. How long were you guys here?
RedSky - 13-6-2012 at 07:32 AM
Thanks Bobalooie. I'll pass on your kind words.
Hey Bob, we thought with the wind being low and on/off that you decided not to bother. We didn't blame you. It was 100 degrees. I guessed you be
sitting my the pool with a drink I don't know how you manage to buggy out there
when summer arrives. :o
We were only there for a long weekend. Friday 11th May - Monday 14th. Popeye mentioned that Fox News where going to be there too but they never
showed. lol I think they saw the forecast and thought better of it.
Despite the low winds it was easily the best session I ever had. Loved every bit of it. I will return and for longer. Nabx is on my list of things to
do before I die.
Unfortunately I left my video camera on the plane when I got back to London. Gutted! I had some fine footage. I hope to make my own video soon of my
experience there. It will feature some Alien Jerky :alien:.
I love the Jerky, BBQ Pork was the best.
Sorry we missed you Bob. :sniff: Do you mind if I credit you in my video ? You helped us out with the permits which we left to the last minute. Big
thanks for that

Hey great video man- some really nice edits in there- I can tell you put a lot of love into it.
Holy Spoked Wheels Are Awesome Batman!!! :bigok:
Check out the spoked wheel action at 4:55
Sweet precision kite control at 11:00

Redsky you are welcome to mention me however you like, but it was just a quick message about the permits. :embarrased: The Fox Sports session was
canceled because the video crew got held back on an event in Arizona prior to our plans. And yes, we were worried about the low winds forecast for
that weekend too. I'm glad you pieced together some good runs and got to at least hit 50 mph even if that isn't new for you. Maybe you can make Nabx
2013 and we can meet properly and ride together.
RedSky - 13-6-2012 at 06:59 PM
Bob, that would be great! I will make every effort to get to nabx 13 especially now I know how easy it is to get there. Cheers

Loved it, especially the close-riding of you two and the overall editing. Really good stuff. I also dug the effect of the spokes on the wheel.

oh man I'm ready to go back...thanks for that

Can never get enough Ivanpah video! RedSky , the 5spoke wheels are they plastic/nylon or metal?
popeyethewelder - 14-6-2012 at 09:46 AM
They are either GSX 250 or 450 front wheels I believe, the 250s are 18" and the 450s 19", they are solid Ally rims, and with the tyres and tubes weigh
up to around 9kgs each.....quite a lump if you are carrying them on a plane a bet
snowspider - 14-6-2012 at 10:16 AM
Thanks!
RedSky - 14-6-2012 at 10:59 AM
The spoked wheels belong to Cliff. They do look the nutts. They are metal but sprayed up in matt black. They do look kinda plastic BMX skyways.
The GSX 19" wheels are mine. They weigh in at 12Kg each, that's 36Kg total and about the same weight as popeye's Apexx bug complete! :shocked2:
I'm sticking the Kendas back on as the discs keep bending the 20mm bolts.
BeamerBob - 15-6-2012 at 09:54 AM
Redsky, do you know the hub width of your disc wheels? You saying you are bending 20mm bolts has me concerned.
Hub width and the extra 3" of rim diameter are probably factors.
RedSky - 15-6-2012 at 06:10 PM
I'm not sure of the width but I can find out. Yeah the rear wheels are very tall and won't fit in the forks so I guess plenty of leverage to bend
bolts + the 12Kg doesn't help.
Are you saying that narrow hubs would bend bolts easier than wider hubs ?
I love these wheels and don't want to give them up. Just spent $300 on the tyres pictured below for the trip out to Ivanpah but unfortunately I'm on
my third 20mm stainless bolt.
On the Dom4 they don't seem to bend bolts and the Dom4 isn't cambered. I wonder if the Cambered axle on the T3 is a factor?
How you getting on with those Landsegler wheels ? How are they on bearings ?
Thanks for the concern.
Here's the size diff compared to the Kenda Beach Racer.
