Ozone Foil Bar

windzup - 20-6-2012 at 10:01 AM

We were cleaning up and found a few brand new Ozone foil bars that would fit the smaller kites in the line up. They are bar only for $50.00 each. Normally new bars are close to $180.00 so this is a great deal. Email me or call if you have any questions.

for depower foils or for the FB trainers?

windzup - 20-6-2012 at 03:35 PM

They are for the depower foils, like the Frenzy, Access or Manta.

Are lines included?

kiteyakker - 21-6-2012 at 09:58 AM

Heather, i emailed you concerning this, I'm interested!

windzup - 21-6-2012 at 01:16 PM

No kite lines are included, just the bar, leader lines and megatron chicken loop and trimmer.

Price is so smoking low this is worth the buy just to scavenge the megatron CL from it to replace a worn out CL!

Will that bar work with an ARC...?

How long are the bars

KsKiteAddict - 27-6-2012 at 10:31 AM

I just received mine today. The bar meastures approximately 20.75" from tip to tip, so it's between a 52 and 53 cm bar?

Brand spanking new, in the plastic. You can't even buy the Megatron chicken loop for what Heather is selling these complete bars for. Great deal, thank you Heather and Windzup!

Are these bars usable on LEIs?

I know Ozone sells a different bar for their inflatables.

flyguy0101 - 27-6-2012 at 11:00 AM

@ maine- bars are 50cm wide (at least mine are) @ everyone else- if you are thinking about changing anything on your bar mine just arrived and this is even a better deal then I thought before i recieved them. Bar comes with the megatron chicken loop (super nice) and also includes a clam cleat and pulley for the depower adjustment. Throw on bar is about 27 cm so a little short compared to an arc 07 bar which should be 33 cm but that is a super easy change for the advantage of the chicken loop and clam cleat. I guess in general i would say the hardware is worht the $50

Thank you for putting up the info Scott. The bars are made for foils, not inflatables and are 50cm wide. I have a few left for anyone who wants to take advantage of the deal.

KsKiteAddict - 27-6-2012 at 03:08 PM

I stand corrected on the length... please forgive my error. At least I was right on this being a great deal.

update on bar for arc use- have started working on some mods for this bar to work on my arcs and while i think this was a smoking good deal be forewarned that it will require some significant changes to make work and since the megatron loop is released when you pull it as a safety that you will need to figure out an add'l attachment point for the safety line as well you will need to redesign a way to utilize the single line flagout safety. I think i have created a somewhat challenging task for myself:eureka:

Update on Conversion- Alright I have finished my rework of the bar for my 10m venom and it was much easier than expected albeit time consuming. the only items added for completion was a new amsteel depower line that also acts as the trim line within the clamcleat and 3 stainless rings. I decided to use the traditional leash setup on an '07 bar and put the rings on the left steering line than using a 1" ring was able to feed it through the chicken loop and attach ring to my leash this way it is all out of the way but is pulled free when you pull the chicken loop safety. When i get a chance this week will take and post a photo for anyone interested.

PS splicing side note- found that a piano wire and packing tape are the easiest way to splice
