Un-Stuck Who is in Albuquerque for the weekend?

Todd - 30-6-2012 at 11:05 AM

Any one from PKF close by?

Drove past the wild fire in Colorado Springs yesterday and all I can say is wow... The site, smell and ash blowing in the wind really makes you respect what's going on here.

Refueling helo's

This side of the mountain was on fire in spots as well

What to do in Denver except watch the lot lizzards bounce from truck to truck. *ewe*

bigkid - 30-6-2012 at 11:25 AM

AT LEAST YOU HAVE US TO TALK TO, OR THE EWE"S:roll::lol:

rocfighter - 30-6-2012 at 11:59 AM

See you need to come to the north east. Lots of us here!
Edit... PKF members not EWE's!!

Todd - 30-6-2012 at 12:41 PM

Double *ewe* Edit: picture resize stinks but this one just knocked on the door.

Theres a kite shop in Denver. Go check it out

Todd - 30-6-2012 at 02:00 PM

I'll google that... thanks Adam!

g-force junkie - 30-6-2012 at 07:24 PM

Todd, Aurora Res. is just a few miles southeast of Denver. It is the spot for kitesurfing in the area and the Gurus hang there, worth a check out and you probably won't even need any gear to ride.

Todd - 1-7-2012 at 01:44 AM

Thanks G I'll look into that as well since I have one more day here.

Cerebite - 1-7-2012 at 07:33 PM

Shoot that is what I get for not checking the forum for a couple of days. We had a get together today at Stapleton (I70 & Quebec). Wind was our usual flaky stuff, speed between 2 and 20 and regular direction shifts (I had a 90 deg shift in about 30 sec).
Erratic winds is around here as well but he has been on the IR.

shehatesmyhobbies - 1-7-2012 at 07:48 PM

Not such a bad place to get stuck for the weekend! There is so much to see!

erratic winds - 1-7-2012 at 07:52 PM

Hahaha, yeah! Step away from the laptop for the weekend and look what I miss.

I'll PM ya and would love to have dinner if ya aren't headed out by then

Todd - 2-7-2012 at 09:01 AM

Had a wonderful day with friends from a 4x4 community, so let’s see what happens today with picking up a load. Thanks for the offer and I'll let you know!

Colorado museum of nature and science is free admission today, the lizards and snakes reptile exhibit is pretty darn awesome. Too bad they are only open til 5!

doublespeed360 - 2-7-2012 at 04:14 PM

lot of cheap people in mass [i'm one] but were ever you are have a happy 4th . paul

Todd - 3-7-2012 at 03:43 PM

Thanks Paul. Nick, it was so good meeting you and thanks for coming out. As luck has it the load fell through and I'm here now until Thursday. Is anyone flying for the fourth and where?

erratic winds - 3-7-2012 at 04:19 PM

Farther east you go the better the wind gets, nearly always.

I think the best bet to find a bit o flying could be Robin@ the Rocky Mountain Kite Association seven two oh 237 two seven two seven.

Perhaps cerebrite can help? If current weather holds like it's supposed to, it should blow in Aurora tomorrow.

I know dove valley is currently closed to everything for turf repair, but there are plenty of other parks. (Static fly would be ok there, just no atb/buggy)

In a perfect world, I'll be free of obligations and fixin to kite about 5, I would love to try to meetup. Family might delay that...here's hoping not!

Was looking great out there today when at work out east, home on the westside we're just getting rain(finally).

Do the state a favor and wash your truck again, you are summoning rain.:wink2:

soliver - 3-7-2012 at 05:23 PM

Yeah no kidding... I thought the same as you because the truck is a mess just sitting here. Looking into some sightseeing, just found out I can drop the trailer to make it a little easier to move around.

~ Day 4.5 stuck. Don't get me wrong it's beautiful out here but if the wheels don't turn there's no money to burn.

rocfighter - 3-7-2012 at 07:04 PM

Into the wind is the kite shop in Denver I have several of there catalogs but I can't find one right now. Look them up on the interweb and get there address. Tell them Dave rocfighter from Skydog sent you!! They like us there!! www.intothewind.com

erratic winds - 3-7-2012 at 07:40 PM

Into the wind is up on Pearl Street Mall in Boulder, CO. They used to have a Denver store but it closed some years ago.
They are a friendly bunch and have certainly started many people down the path to windy ruin :bouncy:

Into The Wind, 1408 Pearl St. Boulder, CO 80302

Boulder is worth checking out on it's own, this is a nice stop while there. Pearl Street mall is a pedestrian mall that has quite a variety of shops, as well as some truly ridiculous buskers.

Wow Todd still stuck.....brings back memories of my truck driving days long long ago........

I remember getting loads of Keebler to get out of Denver when I was driving.......sadly the Keebler plant was closed in 2001 when Kellogs bought Keebler...... Keebler always got me out of Denver back in the day......

But I haven't set foot in a semi since 1987......truck driving was my post Marine Corps job.....dang....I am old....

Todd - 5-7-2012 at 09:30 AM

Yep... STILL here

I did run out to Central City yesterday and have fun walking around the old gold mines. Took a tour of the city as was told of the "Oh My God" road. A road that was the original stage coach trail into the city, eight miles of Oh MY GOD!! I drove that... Watch for it in a soon to be released video.

Todd - 5-7-2012 at 02:20 PM

Should be rolling in the afternoon time frame Saturday, what to do and who can visit?
