WAY Off Topic - PHP and mySQL experts on here?

macboy - 11-7-2012 at 10:40 PM

Mods - feel free to can this if you feel I shouldn't post this.

I'm knee deep in some simple PHP mySQL stuff here and just need a real person that I can bounce things off of and maybe get a bit of (paid) hands-on help moving from a local testing server to the live server hosted through GoDaddy. Any database connection gurus on here? Especially versed with GoDaddy's SQL connections?

Shoot me an email and we can chat.

</Plea for help>

Worth a shot.

So what was it?

FWIW: If you are going to be doing a lot of PHP/mySQL, you might want to snag a copy of Navicat.

Navicat good. MySQL Query Browser also good.

And, yes, there are skilz on this forum. Don't be afraid to ask--it can always go offline.

It was actually a lot easier than I was afraid of. I'd heard that moving your DB online through GoDaddy was a bit of a nightmare but it wasn't bad at all. Just had to change up the connection file a bit - for some reason it wasn't liking the way the username and password was being passed relationally. If that makes any sense.

Good to know there's skills on here though - I'm kinda excited about what I've learned and will be using it in my "web developer" arsenal for future projects for sure. Of course as I push new personal boundaries I may need a hand here and there ; )
