Some Flexboardz SPEED!!

crazyherb - 15-7-2012 at 10:43 PM

Playing with a deck mount for the GoPro on the Flexboardz...watch these trucks/suspension work!! All I have to do is carve and enjoy the ride...

At about 2:40 I hit my fastest point when the beach widened....(you'll see me hunker in)...the old 18M Rhino was low and sheeted out as far as I could and still pulling like a TRUCK... just had to trust....in the equipment at that point...

Movie has not been altered or sped up in any way...

Enjoy...

ANOTHER STICK ON THE BOARD TO MOUNT YOUR GPS WOULD MAKE A GOOD ADDITION.
ANY CHANCE OF MOUNTING AN INSTRUMENT CLUSTER OUT OF A CORVETTE TO SHOW SPEED AND OTHER IMPORTANT INFO?

GREAT VID - KEEP UP THE AWESOME WORK.:wee:

I have been toying with different mounts for different perspectives. I like what you have done. The smooth surface really makes a difference too. Is the mount just attached to a stick or is there something to absorb shock added?

Mount..

Don't laugh too hard...but yes...stick is just 1/2x1 Poplar (it was laying around)...I think it's about 13-14 inches long....went to hardware store and got a little longer (6mm x 40mm if I remember correctly) deck bolt and routed the "stick" just between the arms as to not interfere with suspension.

I've also eliminated all the extra arms on my GoPro mount so it clips directly into the mounting clips.... I actually have the camera hard-mounted...

I found with my RC Aerial stuff that hard-mounting actually has a tendency to REDUCE vibes.....many materials just EXAGGERATE the little vibes that your trying to eliminate. If that makes any sense...

I'll take a pic of the "CrazyHerb red-neck stick setup" for ya next time I'm working on it.

I have no pics of my redneck mount that I strapped to my thigh cause it broke and is gone. I was at the sod farm and it is just rough enough to cause vibration. I tried to smooth it out with software but it made the video unusable.

It isn't pretty but you can't argue with success.
