Wanted: Flexboardz Haize, Used or New

Nomadic - 16-7-2012 at 09:46 AM

I'm trying to track down a Haize by Flexboardz..

Is there a reliable distributor in the US? I can only find the Mendi model, and I want the larger wheels for my rough terrain I'm going to put the thing through.

Are flexboardz still all the rage? Is that why they are so hard to find?

Any leads would be great,

Thanks,
Nomadic

I can only think that you have been looking in all the wrong places.
If you call, or email, or yell real loud, I will be more than happy to help.

Excellent... Thank you. Not sure why, but in all my googling and hunting, I never came across the PKD site.. thanks very much. I'll be browsing and purchasing soon.. might even buy more than I came looking for..

I found your listing on Ebay, and went with that one as the pricing was much better. I didn't have the post count for the 10% coupon.. but oh well, very stoked to find a good price on the board I wanted. Thanks again!

If you bought the 'cheap' ones on ebay, you were not buying from the only *currently authorized* US Dealer.

If the seller was BKK, then you're A-OK.

Nomadic, you did good. it is on the way.
I do believe you may be the last one to get it at that price, I don't think I will be posting the Haize on Ebay anymore. the other guy is in a bit of trouble and if you buy from him, I WILL NOT HONOR HIS WARRANTY, but then I wont leave you hanging like he will.
Enjoy the board.

Thanks, I've very pleased with the smoothness of it all thus far. I absolutely can't wait to do some carving with this board, with and w/o kites... I have some much down hill single track where I live it's unfathomable.. Mtn Biking capital of the world.. I plan on giving this board all the hell it can stand, and then we'll test your warranty out... :)

Question for you though... Replacement wheels.. I'm going to start sourcing them now, and will undoubtedly have to upgrade to something more rugged (Do they make more rugged wheel sets?)

Is anyone modifying these boards for rougher terrain? If so, can any one elaborate on it?

My terrain is cactus laden as well as covered with a weed called "Goat Heads".. which are gnarly tube eating mother F'ers.. is it possible to get solid rubber wheels, sans tube?

Thanks for everything thus far.

I have a video on how to assemble the board which I hope will help when you get it. Not that it is hard to begin with.

Right now I am testing a smoother set of tires but we are working on stiffening the board which works really well.

We are testing different durometers to determin which ones work the best. The tougher ones should do better on rough terrain. The first thing you are going to want to do is change where the current ones are placed. They are fine as is but the harder you carve the board can rub the ground. If you are pushing limits switch them to raise the height of the board. This should help. https://vimeo.com/35104575

The current tires are pretty good if you got the Haize. The mendi ones are a step down toward a regular MTB tire. The Haize tires that come from the factory that I use have withstood about a dozen goat heads. All of them have stuck in the tread so far but if one gets between and into the thinner part I don't know how it will do. What I have done for years with all my tires is slime the tires. Once spinning the weight seems to balance quickly and they don't wobble. The other big problem with any tire is tightening the hub before inflating the tire so it doesn't pinch the tube.

I am also testing road wheels like scooter wheels to make the flexboardz comparable to a long board.

stetson05 is on it. ESP> THE FIRST THING YOU DO ,DEFLATE the tires , tighten the rims, WILL SAVE YOU A HEADACHE.

the 9" on the haize will balloon out a little. the track width addition is a most if you run them fat.

for rough terrain, ALL the way UP with the settings.

after FIRST session (30min-hour) go back and tweak ALL the fasteners.

the tire pressure is great ride enhancer. its weight driven so once you go out and feel it out adjust to fit.

super hard high pressure=FASTEST /RIGID
lower pressure softer= SLOWER/comfy/ bouncy /high grip

if you need MORE float over stuff lower pressure will help.

track width look....http://vimeo.com/35106680

Excellent recommendations! Thank you folks. I seriously am drooling for this board.

Went out and played in some 20mph winds yesterday evening, gusting to 40mph.. Storm fronts in the desert are epic, even if you don't get rain.

I can't wait to be flying by the mountain bikers on some of the open desert runs..

Wanted to say a huge, THANKS! for the flexboardz Haize, BKK!
It arrived today... got it all setup and am now staring out the window waiting for some wind.

I'm very impressed with the service, and will pass on your name to others if I get the chance.
