NJ sand tunnel collapses death
You think the powers that be may in-act some statute prohibiting kids large scale excavations on beaches after this?
I filled in one this spring that was big enough to swallow a buggy

All around it was a bad day for many, sad to hear.
We have that same problem here on the west coast also, digging into the side of the dunes to make a camp. Bad news.

I found one one time on the side of the dunes that was pretty well hidden until I was only about a foot away from it. It was about 3-4 feet wide, 6-8
feet long and about 3 feet deep. My buggy stayed in it but unfortunately I kept going. Just got to scout out a path to avoid those suckers. Real
shame what happened to this kid.

Getting under enough sand to kill you shouldn't need municipal rules to prevent. Some adult should've known better. The death is a real shame. Isle
of Palms in Charleston, SC has a rule that you must fill in any holes you dig on the beach. Good idea to prevent injury to those not knowing it's
there.

I saw this story this morning! It is very sad.
Bobby, I totally agree!

Bobby once again I agree with you. This could have been avoided with parental supervision. After tragedy such as this it is easy to blame city
ordinances and others for this. But lets use this as a lesson. Tell your kids NO when doing something they shouldn't. Let them have a little fit, cry
a bit. It's ok.
