World Cup 2014

Krohn1999 - 23-7-2012 at 01:11 PM

The World Cup 2014 is going to be held in the USA. Does anybody know if class 8 is also going to be there?

sunset-Jim - 23-7-2012 at 06:00 PM

I hadn't even thought about that. Will have to try to find out. And if not, why

USA_Eli_A - 23-7-2012 at 09:35 PM

WHAT? More info:crazy:

BeamerBob - 23-7-2012 at 10:11 PM

Yes! Where and when................. well, and how?

Krohn1999 - 24-7-2012 at 01:59 PM

It is supposed to be in Smith creek Nevada.
I have recieved emails asking if class 8 will also be particapating or will it just be sails?

BeamerBob - 24-7-2012 at 03:15 PM

So this is a landsailer thing. :(

Krohn1999 - 24-7-2012 at 10:07 PM

Class 8 belongs to Fisly, so the WC usually happens all together. At least that is how it works in Europe.
It would be really cool to run class 8 in the USA, but I am sure it is going to be very hard to do.
If anyone has any info please let me know.

Hi all,
I am not involved in, but I could be able to ask FISLY how they manage to get classe 8 on WC in Smith Creek !
In Cherrueix 2 weeks ago classe 8 pilots represented 1/4th of the pilots participating, this should be important !!

I would be happy to see this event (class 8 WC in the USA), and if necessary, I would like to help as race-master !

The only thing would be to know do the buggy club of the US want to get this WC, and be part of the organisation ?

Obviously I can't speak for the club, but as a member of NAPKA I would most definitely like for this to happen. I say let's do it.

Sounds like there is interest in getting class 8 World Cup Racing to North America

The real question is how many pilots from this side of the pond will compete?

No point in having all these world class pilots come over and just compete against each other like they could back home :ninja:

~2 years to get it together... should be doable:wee:

Let's pretend I know but am asking for the benefit of others................ What is "class 8"? :duh::duh::lol::lol:

shehatesmyhobbies - 27-7-2012 at 01:04 AM

FISLY is land yahting. Class 8 is basically a kite buggy class

tototo - 27-7-2012 at 01:59 AM

In the FISLY organisation (as for ISAF for sailing) it is organised with class (less or more specific).

The 2 classes the most important on last WC, and for practice is : mini-yacht (include blokart and so on) and class 8 which mean kite-buggy, kite-bike, ....

Most important do not mean that representation in the political council is on the same level.

Bladerunner - 27-7-2012 at 04:37 PM

Wow, how is this coming about? Who is the North American contact?

Smith Creek Nevada ???? What is there ?

Do the Euro's know what a pathetic race scene we have here? Are they coming all this way to teach us? :dunno:

Like Eli says !

BBob, it was clear to me you knew what class 8 was when you said it is a land sailor thing ! ;-)

I wondered if Class 8 was just yet another landsailer thing. You know, big ones, little ones, and medium sized ones.

shehatesmyhobbies - 27-7-2012 at 05:28 PM

I have been corresponding with tototo via email and he has passed along my contact info to the FISLY council so that we can possibly get some info here. It does look like there will be Class 8 races. Once I get some info, I will pass it on.
