i'm living out of an rv with my woman, and space is super #@%$#!in tight with all the kite gear and the libre full race buggy(and kitesurfing gear)
along with us. not many places to ride, so i'm schleppin this #@%$#! all over the place just to ride this year at the burn, but i would love to check
out other lake beds too.
i would love it if anyone knew the condition on the playa, and give an up to date report on the playa surface. last few years it's been total #@%$#!
to buggy there. very crumbled up cake like surface, cary dangerous or impassable in many parts.
on google earth i see several other unnamed dry lakebeds, plus the also unnamed site of the old burning man location(in 97) off of country rd 34 which
i've been thinking about camping at for a few days after the burn and hiking up the granite mountains to the mountaintop meadows, just west of the
black rock playa.
i would love to hit up a few dry lakebeds to buggy around while i'm in that area for a short period of time (last week august and beginning of sept),
and would love some insight into the dry lakes of the area.
is the terrible surface of the black rock playa natural, or do the human activities on the playa tear it up? are other nearby dry lakebeds, perhaps
the less visited ones, better for buggying? any dangers to be aware of(like the nuclear dust warnings at ivanpah, barbed wires), access issues,
accessibility, etc.?
dying to bust my buggy nut out in the high desert, please, please help a brutha out!
