Been starting to ride on water the last few days and since I don't have (nor can afford at the moment) a tube, I've been trying to ride with my ARCs.
Had this beautiful cross on-shore wind of 10 knots steady and the 16m ruled (to me) in every aspect.
Tube people where struggling having to work the kites to get power when I only had to turn a little to the side and let it "park-and-ride".
Beeing a complete newbie, I had a great time on the board.

Mine is so beat up and with the "golden zippers" sindrome but it“s still my go-to kite.
I keep beeing surprised as how versatile this wing is.
Only used it in landboarding but after this, I think I'm going to postpone any tube aquisition.
One thing that happened in that session was I lost wind on the outside (in a same spot that two tube guys lost it also) but, they“re wings felt on the
water and they had to be rescued by other's. My Scorp stood at zenith allowing me to float ashore with the board on the other hand. I felt so
confident and secure, that I kept the session going, :D

Some "foot age" (no pun intended, :saint: ) of yesterday low wind session. (wind was around 8 knots, hehehe)
The rig was the same, PL Scorpion 16M and the board is a Cabrinha 150x40.

If in doubt about how good ARCs are, it was my first (and only) Depower kite and "they" taught me almost every thing I know.

That was my thought when I went into the water (buying a tube) but since I already had the ARCs and have heard of people riding with them, I went and
tried it.
As long as you don't drop it in the water (which isn't impossible but very unlikely) everything will be ok. Just start on low winds and move up the
wind speed as you get more used to it.

In the 1st session, most were on 12m and a friend of mine was on a 17m.
In Guincho, the normal sizes are between 5m and 10m (when it blows, it blows)
Only the 17m was riding good, others were struggling to make power.
The wind was around 10knots steady.
The next sessions I had, there were none. I had the whole beach for me.
The Scorp was on the low end of it with the wind around 8knots.
What also helped was the board I was on (150x40).
I can't compare the Scorp to the Venoms (never tried one) but I trust Venoms will be even better on water since they were made for that,
When you have the chance, take it with your biggest board on the low to mid range of the 16m and see how it handles, :D
