dirtslide - 17-8-2012 at 09:16 AM

looking for some PL three spoke rims for my wifes kitebuggy .need all three and no need for tires with the rims .someone must have a set of these around still .

BeamerBob - 17-8-2012 at 09:25 AM

I have a single with 12mm bearings I'd part with. Bought it as a spare when I had my flexi buggy. It's never had a tire mounted on it.

Seems like Dino had 2 more 12mm rims oddly enough. Or do you need 2 20mm rims to go with my 12?

dirtslide - 17-8-2012 at 10:29 AM

Dixie's XR+ has the 12mm up front and the 20's on the rear ,so this may be an issue because I don't know if the 3 spoke came with te 20mm bearing.I know that my flexi scout has 12's all the way around ,although the rear rims are 20mm with bushings down to 12mm and they are the cool aluminum ones that Kent sells.Only problem with that is I remember that if a pilot was hard on the 3 spoke rims (two wheel, jumping, side slide and so on) that they may fail , any thoughts on this Bob. p.s. I do like to two wheel , jump and slide LOL

BeamerBob - 17-8-2012 at 10:34 AM

I'm a big boy and never bent a 12mm axle on my flexi, but if you are jumping then the 20mm wheels might be better. The new Flexi stainless buggy comes with 20mm all around. I don't think they make the 12mm wheels any longer. Just bushings for the 20mm wheels if you have a 12mm axle.

The 3 spoke wheels were at one time available in 12, 15, and 20mm.

So now I wil look for two rear with 20mm bearings ,thanks Bob. I just love the look of the 3 spoke ,so retro. Once saw them on Dave Sabalino's buggy and the outside rim was polished with the spokes annodized blue ,looked so great.

Might have what you need. I'll check as soon as I'm home (30 min).

DAKITEZ - 17-8-2012 at 11:10 AM

sounds like you dont need it but I have one 12mm wheel also. I only have one bearing. so it will need a bearing and spacer. I will look again to see if I can find the other bearing and spacer.

Just an offer if someone is interested....I have a brand new set (6) spacers in S.S....never used...never opened that go from 12mm (Flexifoil bolt) to the 20 mm. Paid 60.00 plus shipping.....Willing to let go for 60.00 with shipping included. If not, I will just hold on to them till the time is right for some buggy bling.

Well with the pictures, I now know that my wheel isn't at all what you are looking for Ken. Mine is the 3 spoke plastic rims like used to be made before the "safety" wheels came out. Sorry for the misunderstanding. Corey Jensen has a set of these on his buggy. He did something putting 2 of the wider sections of offset wheels together to make a set that were like 6" wide. He might have some laying around the kite shop. Sorry to disappoint!

DAKITEZ - 17-8-2012 at 01:06 PM

ahh .. yes mine is the plastic as well. Sorry I also misunderstood

Seems like my knight in shining armor is Jon Ellis ,called him up and he has a buggy complete with the three spokes that Im looking for and with SOBB in two weeks I will be in seaside and the fact that he is having a garage sale on the 2nd makes me a very happy guy. thanks jellis.

rocfighter - 17-8-2012 at 05:49 PM

DS good luck with the tag sale. I wish I could attend this.

dirtslide - 17-8-2012 at 06:16 PM

There are two locations where if there is going to be a tag sale every kiter should be, one is at Jon Ellis's and the other would be at Corey Jensen's. :wow::bouncing:

Sorry d'sliddy. Got hung up and didn't look (and my phone spammed PKF  )

If you're looking to make up some offset midis I have what you need (two wide halfs). Not sure what condition or if they're drilled to death but they're yours free if they check out and you want 'em. Let me know.

dirtslide - 18-8-2012 at 09:31 PM
