Like my Zero7 bar, my Syns are letting me know they have seen better days. Everytime I crash them now, there is a cell blowout. 4 blown cells since
last October (1 on the 15 and 3 on the 10). I need to replace them soon. If the Charger release date is not known, I will have to replace my Syns with

The Charger II is scheduled to start arriving into stores around mid October. No word yet on the Voltage but it is estimated that it will be coming
out after the Charger II is in full production.

I was looking closely at my P2 this weekend and it did seem to have rather thin fabric. I don't necessarily see this as a bad thing. I've been
wanting a lighter Arc. A lighter kite has more low end wind range. That's just what I need in a big Arc.
Otherwise I have to get some god-awful expensive Flysurfer or light-weight FB for the light wind days. I do not want to give up the Arc-y goodness.

Philip you are right. I don't necissarily think it's thinner, but it definatly feels lighter. I don't know if it was sprayed with a lighter water
proof coating or what, but what I did notice was that it felt much lighter. I did see one of the new phantoms tear along a seam about 12 inches, but
that could have been because of the conditions in which it hit.
I much prefer the solid feel to the old venoms and such. Im getting old and I don't like change! haha I really like kites that are sturdy so they can

AFIK, the 22.5 is a production kite. Because of it's size and limited demand, I don't think they will be making a ton of them like they would for the
10, 12 and 15 so availability may be a little limited or slightly harder to get a hold of.

What is the Hype on the new Charger ?
For my personal style the Charger was getting too aggresive. Like my original C kites.
I stepped back to my trusty Syn's . ( and now phanny 18 )
I wonder with 2 arcs back in the line up if the Charger will hold the amped up nature ?

Isn't that what the Charger was supposed to do and why it replaced it ?
I guess what I am asking is of the 2 models what one will allow me to screw up and not snap at me for my mistake? What drew me back to my Syn was it's

I am assuming P2. So ..... does the P2 deliver snappy power and hunt for zenith like the Charger? Is it as laid back and as fast turning as the Syn?

the P2 isn't snappy like the charger. it is definatly more stable even with everything tightend up for quick response. It felt somewhat like a
venom. Ready to go when you are but not as edgy as the CH. It feels stable and faster turning like the synergy but not as aggresive as the chargers.
It has a very smooth auto zenith. I liked the P2 but it didn't have the boost and hangtime like the chargers had. Also it has lots more throw in the
bar which I really enjoyed. It seemed to be more like a blending of the synergy and scorpion to me. It is a really fun kite when you have lots of
open space. I didn't like that if you were in a small space like a soccer field it needed a bit more space to light it up for tricks. However when I
used it, the winds were only 10-14mph at best. It definatly launches easier then the old phantoms and scorpions. In that aspect it felt much like
the Syn.
it doesnt have that aggresive lift that the older phantoms possessed. which some people may really enjoy. the bar also felt simple like 07, but was
better self contained like the navi bar. the vpc is also more simple on the ph2.

I logged about 3 hours on my P2 15 this weekend on the beach. and two more hours on grass a few weeks back. I've also flown and P2 10m back in May.
As a Scorp flier I find the P2 to be a more forgiving kite yet high performing. It is easier to launch than the Scorp, turns faster than the Scorp,
and provides a smoother ride.
The depower is huge, but moreso I feel like there is a wider range of useful power settings. When I'm riding the Scorps on grass (e.g. more rolling
resistance) I feel like I am hunting for the sweet spot where I get just the right mix of speed and power. With the P2 I just pull in the bar until
I'm happy. It just feels easier to power up.
The P2 tracks very well on long tacks. I'd say equivalent to the Scorp. With either kite I one-hand the bar. I wrap my fingers of my leeward hand
around the bar from the back side. I put two or three fingers below the trim line depending on how high I want the kite to fly. More fingers below
the trim steer the kite more downward. I fine-tune the flying height with small adjustments of finger pressure. I don't know how that compares to P1
flying, but there it is.
I like the new nav bar a lot. The safety line has elastic inside it so it adapts its length to your trim. You never have a sagging safety line
wrapping in other stuff. The trim line does offer one gotcha--if you like to detangle in flight, the 5th line safety is another line to watch out for
when you are passing the bar through the flying lines. If you are aware of it, it's not hard to work with. Just don't ignore it or you can make a
mess of things.
My one complaint on the nav bar has to do with the stopper. If the bar is sitting on the stopper, I can't move the stopper out. On my home-built bar
I trim in or out with the bar resting on the stopper. That's a really nice feature I would love to have on the nav. Does anyone have a mod to allow
a more flexible "stopper trimming"? In considering making my own movable stopper for the nav.

Thanks to both of you for the reviews! Nobody has mentioned low end ? I NEED an arc that will perform with only 5kt winds ! The original phanny 18 is
filling that spot now with room to improve. ( accept of course the graphics )
Sounds like I will be wanting to get a shot at the P2 before the new Charger. I sure do miss having a shop located here to " try before you buy " .
