So, I'm ready to buy a new kite for my trip to the shore. Since I only use it once a year, I want a decently cheap kite.
My option is the Radsails 145. It runs for abour $45 on ebay. I may need to pay for extra shipping to get it here by the time I leave.
I have been flying kites every summer. I started with a single line, bought a few stunt kites, and now I want a power kite.
Would a 1.4 meter kite pull me down the beach? Would I go some where if I jumped up? I'm new to power kites, but I really want to get into it.
Let me know. Thanks alot!

For that kite to pull ya at all would take at least a 20 mph wind and even with that, only a little bit. I would recommend at least the 2.4 radsail
(and even more prefered would be the 3m) for a couple of reasons. It's a little bit bigger and it is a 4-line powerkite vs the 2-line. The 2.4 will
give you a little pull but will still require a pretty stiff wind to get much and obviously the 3 would do better.
I'm guessing that you are on the east coast??

If your stuck on that sort of budget, I'd think about a quality used kite, you really want a 2-3m quad line kite. Radsails, beamers, and busters are
all pretty solid starter kites, the busters are going quite reasonably now that the Buster II's are being released.

I agree on the suggestion to maybe check out some used kites. I've been looking for a power kite myself, and it's become obvious that generally
speaking you get what you pay for. There are some very apparent quality and style difference between the Thunder and Beamer for example.
