Noticed today that what I thought was a scratch was actually a crack
At the thinner 'flex tip' part of the board... where it joins to the meet of the body. Cracked on the upper surface, and looks like it's split on the
base, along the 'join' there.
Now, if it happened when I think it did, then I've been riding it for a couple of months and not noticed :o
Can things like this be repaired? Or just buy a new board? :D

Take the Phreerider approach on this one and ride it till failure is imminent or present. I can't imagine a repair that sticks unless it is some big
chunk of support on topside.

watch it grow ! theres no reverse on theses types crack. you could reverse the pads to reload a different section but limits have been meet. it
only requires re-visitation to hasten failure. the only resolve IF NEW --->warranty replacement if so lucky but replacement and this unit goes
into back up mode.

Oh... pooh...
Well, I was thinking about a North Nugget... but I'd hate to be without my beloved Ol' Faithful... and I did want one of the new models...
Sigh. More tough decision. O Woe is me!

Yup, confirmed by sending pictures to FSer - broken, can't be repaired.
I've had 156 sessions with that board... works out about $6 per session :o
If it wasn't for my stupid move, I'd probably get another 2 years out of the board easily - it was still in primo condition.
Thanks Ricardo, for hooking me up 2 years ago :D

at least you can harvest the pads /finns /hardware.
that was an $$$ board , BUT heavy cycling AT the limits may be as good as gets for size requirements you need.
so some flex may help on your next choice, tuff call since you need light wind board size.
smells like custom carbon coming your way. if your gonna spend that kinda $ .
susi mai 's dad in caberette is a custom kiteboard specialist . i would check it out

FSer suggested they may be able to do me a deal on a 2012 :o man, they have know how to do customer service!!!
I was probably going to get a Nugget and keep the Flydoor... but now I can chose only one, so it's a tough call.
PHREERIDER - 13-9-2012 at 04:53 PM
choice and a deal, nice

Got the 2012 Flydoor XL today in the post :D
They offered me a new one at a great price but I'd have to wait till they had stock in December...
Or a used one for less, right now. The photos looked great so I went with the used one. It IS in great condition and I'm happy with it
Great deal and customer service - good ol' Flysurfer!
Now... I gotta get my 21 fixed
stetson05 - 26-9-2012 at 08:50 PM

Gusty, unstable wind, overly-tight SZ1... ballsed up a jump, inverted the kite and it nose-dived at full power and a seam ripped luckily, we're into the season when hopefully I won't need it :o only a few inches, and
I flew it for an hour or so before I noticed :D
