Anyone give any info on this interesting looking item?B-Roc - 11-9-2012 at 03:48 AM
Interesting. The kite is totally a late 1990s design and looks a lot like what SpectraSport were making in those days only much bigger. Not sure how
those carbon (I'm assuming) rods would do if the kite were smashed into frozen or solid ground and depending upon how flat that sail is relaunching
could be quite the trick and dead launching is likely out.
Would be cool to cascade or half axel the kite through your redirects and pop it into a fade on a downwinder.pbc - 11-9-2012 at 04:22 AM
There's a piece of kite surfing history. Thanks for the link.Kamikuza - 11-9-2012 at 04:57 AM

included code from video after first '=' sign(IKYwpPPHxaM&feature=player_embedded).....including all symbols ...did not work?... what did I do
wrong?

Kami thanks for the video links. They are a really great find. I haven't seen Randi since the late 80's. But I still have the T shirt!!indigo_wolf - 11-9-2012 at 05:34 AM
The Kiteski was originally developed by Cory Roeseler (Oregon) in 1986.
The C-Quad was probably a bit more famous, and both can be seen in the video below.
You can also see the kite being directly deployed (reeled out) from the spool of kite line attached to the bar and apparently you could use the spool
to choose how long you wanted the flying line to be.
In 1995, long before Audi was using the Level One Thor's Hammer in there Audi ads, the Kiteski was being used in ads for the Toyota Tacoma. You can
view the Toyota ad in post #3 here: http://fksa.org/showthread.php?p=48717

Home fires are burning down to embers so my posting to most forums (not just PKF) are below par.
Hopefully the patent links are still helpful for seeing how everything is kitted together.

So these kites were made in the late 80’s to early 90’s. Wow cool seeing how the sport evolved. Also cool seeing some gear that may be older than me.
thanks, Kamikuza..

I knew about the tv symbol...I was having trouble where to end my capture of the code.
....apparently right before the `&' smybol-when letters stop and other symbols appear. Always all letter code...I guess...?Suds after thuds - 11-9-2012 at 01:41 PM
so does anyone still ride a monoski? or has the wake style taken over completely?markite - 11-9-2012 at 01:50 PM
just pulled out my smaller Banshee Scimitar to fly it at a kite fest this spring. It soon brought back memories trying to push the curved rod into the
leading edge sleeve etc.
Nice piece of surf history there for sure - they were selling the set up for 2,000.00 when it came out and a friend wanted it but bought the original
PL buggy with the spoke wheels instead because he couldn't afford the KiteSki (early 90's)beachrights - 11-9-2012 at 02:59 PM
Can you imagine Buggying with this rig?! It's like a Fishing Rod on Steriods! Though why do I keep looking at it?? Hmmmmmm???Kamikuza - 11-9-2012 at 06:28 PM
