depower kite on handles?!?!?

I found this today on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/KITE-10-0M-Radsails-EVO2-kite-surfin...
They are selling a Radsail evo2 depower kite with handles. Is it safe to fly a depower kite on handles? If it is not I will message the seller to explain the issue. I just don't want a new kiter to buy this if it is unsafe and get hurt.

The first sentence reveals a whole lot.

"selling a bought But never used."

The EVO2 like all depower kites, flies on a bar not handles.

He's selling it for $395 ($450 BIN), but looking at the pictures and reading between the lines of the description lines aren't included.

Anyone thinking of buying that setup is going to be in for some buyer's remorse (and possibly sticker shock) when they price out some new flying lines and a depower bar.

Worst case scenario, is they will trying to do it on a budget and just get some lines and fly with the handles, which is going to be real dicey in gusty conditions.... especially if they are flying static.

They also don't state that the EVO harness is One-Size-Fits-Most (30" to 38" waist). If you've been making too many trips to the Dunkin Donuts or are just "big boned", you could still be on the hook (no pun intended) for a new harness to get this wing airborne (after you get a bar and flying lines).

It's all these non-obvious little things that make what could have been a decent deal, into a headache medley.

I've gotten some good deals on eBay, but this rings the "caveat emptor" bell. Hopefully anyone looking for a 10M depower has enough sense to connect the dots before pulling the trigger.

But believe it or not you can fly a depower on handles. She'd be full power all the time but you can do it. I think some early Flysurfers actually detail how to do it as an option on some of their models.

I dread that amount of YouTube potential this eBay sale carries with it... sigh.

I would stay away from this one! I had an evoII for awhile and it is a great kite, but it belongs on a bar!

FS Cool was originally sold on a bar or handles. With handles, it works the opposite of FBs on handles (with the Cool, if you appllied the brakes, you powered the kite up - like pulling the bar in - not sure how you killed the kite).

So its not ideal but definately possible but if it were a good idea it would have been continued.

Have you ever added a touch of break when in motion and the kite running the edge ? It drops back and boosts power , a LOT like depower ?
