I was able to get out at on the buggy today and I think I am making some progress. The wind was pretty steady for a good hour and I had a couple park
and ride runs across the field which was really cool then the wind switched direction and started picking up a little too much for me and since I only
had the Viper S 5.3 with me I was starting to feel a little over powered plus the fact that I pulled a muscle in my leg the other day and running
with the kite when bringing to zenith was killing it ( I need to learn to scud and yes I picked up some skate shoes) I decided to pack it in for the
day .
I think I am totally addicted at this point. Can’t wait to get back out there

Try and make Wildwood Buggy bash in Jersey. just come down even if for only a day. You will be glad ya did!
You could deffo demo some kites ,boards, buggies. The folks are all PKF'rs,and the coolest people I know!
If the planets align, I might even show up........ Be tough! Inland wind is very dirty(turbulent),the beach is the place to be,or the dry lakes!
Welcome to the addiction, you're in for for a ride!!!!:bigok:

When wind is strong a safer method for launching is the " side launch ".
Let the kite flag downwind with the bridle up. Fold the upwind tip over about 6" and put a weight on it. ( water bottle ) . Roll your lines out at at
slight upwind angle. As you tension your lines the downwind tip should pick up. Take it a little slow so your kite fills as it rises. When it has
taken shape and before it flops over on itself give all lines a tug to pop the weight off. The kite should be flying low at the edge of the window .
EXACTLY where a kite should be in strong winds ! Slowly work the kite up and into the window judging if it is too much. If so take it back down the
edge. If not .......:wee:

I will try the side launch next time the wind starts picking up pretty good.
I think I might need to take a break for a week or two on the kites & buggy I strained my quadriceps pretty good. It happened the other day but
yesterday made it a lot worse Need to do some R.I.C.E.
