I created Didgeridoo Down Under (both the show and the company) in 2003, and since then it has evolved into one of the most popular cultural
edu-tainment companies in the U.S. During the past decade, my mates and I have presented almost 4,000 shows and workshops at 2,000-plus venues
(schools, libraries, camps, museums, festivals, corporate events and more) in 21 states for well over 400,000 viewers and participants.
This is a fantastic chance for a didgeridoo player to start an exciting and rewarding career in the field of educational entertainment. The new
performer will need to be ready to hit the road by September 2013.
Requirements:
- must already be a good didgeridoo player (video and/or live audition required)
- character traits: reliable, dedicated, creative, courteous, comedic (at least a little), kind, honest, open-minded, adventurous, ambitious,
flexible, focused … with good communication skills ... and able to take constructive criticism!
- training in Tampa, Fla., and possibly other cities (will require undetermined amount of time, based on many factors)
- able to travel year-round throughout U.S. (don’t worry, there will be plenty of down time as well)
- no criminal record other than traffic violations (background check required)
DDU edu-tainers are independent contractors, not employees, so there is no set salary. Expect to earn between $50,000 and $70,000 the first year, with
potential to earn $80,000-plus in subsequent years.
