was thinking of getting a 2 line power kite, was recommended the ozone imp.
is thjere much difference between the original 2008 model and 2012 model? i have seen some v cheap deals on the 2008 models and wondered if i would
notice the difference as a beginner.

I'm not too sure about the difference between the '08 and the '12, but I would suggest getting at least a 3-line trainer, it makes relaunching so much
easier. Or the Imp quattro is also a good choice, much finer control with handles. Welcome to the crazy house! Play safe, get a helmet, too!

if you got a good deal....... grab it, fly the snot out of it, and start buying more and more kites. thats what we do around here.....lets go!!! your
on the clock.. no kite is the wrong kite........unless your going too big.... the only thing we dont put in the wind is caution, have fun.

+1 for going 3 or 4 line.
You will appreciate the reverse launch a lot!

I have the older model 1.5 two line IMP, I really like this kite even if I never use it any more, I even want another one. For just fooling around on
the beach when there is not enough space to buggy this is my favourite kite. My wife learned to fly using this kite, I have even used it fairly
successfully in the buggy in high winds. I don't know if there is much difference to the new models except for the sizes, and more importantly the
graphics. Ozones new graphics make me want to avoid their new kites, the older IMPs look much nicer.
As for two vs three lines, I will disagree with the consensus here. You may find it frustrating relaunching a two line kite repeatedly when you are
learning, but it will teach you two things:
a) Don't crash the kite
b) You can relaunch a two line kite that lands upside down without resetting it. You need more than the minimum wind that the kite flies in, but a
kite that is small enough can be turned over on the ground using just two lines. Learning this skill will help you sort out larger four line kites
when they give you trouble relaunching.
Plus if you have two people when learning it gives the person not flying something to do when you keep crashing :bouncy:
