I thought it was finished, but just saw on Surfing Dirt some pics of the new board. Lets just say that I might have to sell my current deck and by
this one. :wee: Sorry I'm on my iPhone so I can't get the pictures to upload. Anyone near a computer able to post them?erratic winds - 16-10-2012 at 11:27 AM
Looks like stencil art humped some flash tattoo stuff and then they vomited on a deck.
I really want to like it, it's very close to stuff I enjoy, it's just "off" to me somehow!indigo_wolf - 16-10-2012 at 12:34 PM

Without offense to the designer MBS hired....
Criteria:Would I use the pattern/design as a tatoo? No
Would I have a have a Koenigsegg Agera custom paint in this pattern? No
Would I wear a T-Shirt with this pattern? No So basically for me the design is a fail. Sadly MBS is stuck in the mindset that it's consumer audience loves anything that looks like it would
be suitable for graffiti or for doodling in the margins of a notebook. It's the same trend that GI was on before it's demise. The term I coined was
"splatter chic." It's also prevalent among snowboards and mountain bike helmets.
Thousands and thousands of image styles in the collective unconscious from Celtic maze patterns, tribal/Maori designs, crop circle designs, and
countless others..... and yet, this is the height of fashion. Afraid I am still still at a loss.
It kinds of ironic that it evokes the same kind of visual discordances that usually reserved for golf wear.
Oh well.... just not might flavor.... each to their own and all that.
In a perfect world, for a small upcharge you could pick your own design and then have a translucent HDPE top and base coat.... dare to dream.

Brings me back to the bad acid days of the 60's, with a bit of today thrown in for those who never heard of Sgt. Pepper. I will have to give it a

You want custom graphics? Possible with DIY! Print large format sticker, prepare deck(remove griptape, sand top sheet) apply & smooth sticker,
poly over that, whee.....boing! shaggs2riches - 16-10-2012 at 08:35 PM
I thought of that last year when I was on a quest to give my Jereme Leafe a custom job. Ended up not doing it because I was scared that any sanding
might weaken the integrity of the deck. That and it seemed that the bottom couldn't be done because of the PB base on it.

I agree the skulls are cool thing is long been overkill. Just seems like an overall fresh idea from what has been put out in the past. 2010?? GI
Conflict 106 is still my favorite followed by 2008?? Comp 95 with the compass on top of deck. It would be great to see a board come out with graphics
more like a 2010 Flysurfer Radical. Or with just plain wood grain look.indigo_wolf - 16-10-2012 at 09:13 PM

In that case, I was born old.

Ditto that. I would never buy this board and would prefer they just go back to basic designs or color patterns.
If they go the route of GI per Sam's earlier comments that would be a shame. I loved the idea of the Conflict just hated the artwork of the woman on
the board. Like skulls even less.lives2fly - 17-10-2012 at 03:37 AM
I never like the designs on boards. land boards, kite boards, snow boards they are all pretty lame.
I do think this is one of the better ones to be honest!
The pro 90 is the best board I have ridden though so if I was in the market for a new board I think i would buy it whatever it looked like!
fortunately for my bank balance, there is nothing wrong with the boards i've already got. Kamikuza - 17-10-2012 at 05:23 AM
I like it - it's whimsical enough that the skulls don't bug me.B-Roc - 17-10-2012 at 08:41 AM
I'd prefer a simple, basic, black board with accent colors that don't over due it - maybe in the logo to make the brand pop. Most artwork I
eventually tire with even if I loved it at first.shortlineflyer - 17-10-2012 at 10:15 AM
i want it
but if possible i would just have one with the wood and nothing elsecarltb - 21-10-2012 at 12:11 PM
