Black would be nice :D but so many things I'm not interested in on that model
White balance setting and 1080@60fps are all I really want.
... and I H-A-T-E MicroSD!!!lives2fly - 17-10-2012 at 03:45 AM
The Hero 2 does 1080 & 60 fps doesn't it? EATS battery on that setting though!John Holgate - 17-10-2012 at 03:52 AM

Just had a thumb through the menu on mine - only 25fps (pal) on 1080. I use the 50fps on 720 and notice much less battery life than the original

Oh yeah on the framerate and battery/card life too... and I still can't get over MicroSD :D
Wonder if the IQ, audio is significantly better quality in the equivalent modes to the HD2...?
And... have they solved the fogging issue?
I'll tell you what I want, what I rilly rilly want - Roam case (waterproof enough), Drift LCD and remote, GoPro IQ, and Sony ImageSteady.Cheddarhead - 17-10-2012 at 06:30 PM
Sounds nice Kami! Now all you need to do is round up a few million dollars then produce and market your own camera......I guarantee it would sell!!
Easy peasy! I'll donate the first $20.Kamikuza - 17-10-2012 at 07:10 PM

New GoPro

...of course, I just ordered a GoPro v2 yesterday! Guess I didn't hold out quite long enough.Kamikuza - 17-10-2012 at 09:08 PM
In nearly bought a Roam :Dandy666 - 17-10-2012 at 10:54 PM
The new cameras look good at first glance. The smaller size will be easier to mount etc.
I wonder though what the battery life will be like? The hero2 battery is 1100mAh (plus a seperate battery for the wifi bacpac), where the new hero3 is
running the camera and wifi off just a 1050mAh battery.Kamikuza - 18-10-2012 at 03:06 AM
Life in the specs is the same - 2.5 to 3 hours. Good enough for me...lives2fly - 18-10-2012 at 03:30 AM
My Hero 2 has never lasted more than 1.5 hours. thats on 720 and 50FPS and switching it on and off to film. it lasts 50 - 60 mins filming on 1080.
Its fine for getting some footage of a kite session but for a day in the mountains etc you need a spare!
Battery life is my only issue though. The picture quality is superb. Only suffered minimal fogging too. On hotter days when using in and out of water
and on colder days in and out of cable cars/gondolas/funiculars at ski resorts.andy666 - 18-10-2012 at 11:48 PM
I wonder if that 2.5-3hr battery life they quote with or without the wifi turned on?Kamikuza - 29-10-2012 at 06:38 PM
Filmed 110 minutes non-stop on my HD1, 960@30, and there are still 2 bars showing on the battery gauge... :dunno:
#@%$#!ing fogging though is driving me bonkers - I think I'm going to grab a Roam for $129 and see how that goes!
