Forum?

Do you have to be a member of NAPKA to get on the forum? I am unable to register for the forum, I keep getting the same error every time I try.

Could not find email template file::textual_confirmation.

I U2U'd Morrie a couple days ago but he's probably busy right now so I thought I would post it here. I think I want to join the club but I wanted to check out the forum first and see what numbers are already taken.

Hit up Rich "shehatesmyhobbies" he should be able to set you straight.

Hey Chris H, I just gained access from my home computer no problem. I was able to access the forum without logging in, therefore it did not recognize me as a member. There are some areas that are NAPKA pilot accessible, but for the most part, it should all be accessible to anyone who wants to check it out.

If you need, give me a buzz, number is in the sig

Rich

FWIW: The numbers already in use are listed on the application form:
http://www.napka.org/membership_step1.php

Not sure how often that gets updated, but as the last member number to join the forum is on the application form, seems like it might be fairly regular.

You might also want to clear your browser cache, and try again. If there were any files that were being updated while you tried to browse the forum, your browser might have some dependent files that haven't been updated and are incompatible with a file that was changed.

I can browse the NAPKA forum fine without being logged in.

Sam

Getting reports from 2 PKF'ers..

I can see the forum just fine, I just can't register for it without getting that same error. I just tried again after clearing my browser cache and still no dice.

Thanks Indi, that's the main thing I was looking for. I'll be joining after I figure out what number I want :)

Digged around some more.

Apparently there are some files missing on the NAPKA site.

The one that it is complaining about seems to be for the boilerplate for the email confirmation email that gets sent out when a user registers for the forum.

PHPBB is shipped with a default template and all the required boilerplate files are stored in the directory:
templates/<* template_name *>/

If you create a new default template the files have to be copied to:
templates/<* new_template_name *>/

If a new default template was set/created during the last NAPKA website refresh and the required files weren't copied over to the appropriate directory, this error would be generated.

Apologies for the sudden geek outburst :embarrased:

Long and the short of it is, it ain't just you...

ATB,
Sam

Chris, I tried to call Morrie today! No luck I will try again tomorrow! I wish I knew more about the programming stuff!

I setup a new member on the NAPKA forum. Only current members can access the NAPKA forum.

I suppose this could be changed if the officers are for it and the forum manager can change the code.
