Official Beach Report...

Todd - 22-10-2012 at 04:38 PM

Sandy...

The beach has never looked better! Very well groomed on the top side however closer to the bottom presents our first challenge to the newbies... A lake. Yes that's what I said so bring your boards and your floaties folks this one will be fun. Shall we present an award for the first accidental lake dip?

The lake...

shehatesmyhobbies - 22-10-2012 at 06:39 PM

What about the first on purpose lake dip! Skim across that sucker flat out!

I am sure that it will still doable!

WELDNGOD - 22-10-2012 at 07:57 PM

rocfighter - 23-10-2012 at 04:45 AM

I just mounted some big floatation tires for the back. 22X10X10 on sweet 10X8 rims. Still have the ribbed (for her pleasure) in the front. I need a wider front rim. Any one have an 8X4,6,8 rim to sell cheap?

Todd - 23-10-2012 at 08:50 AM

Wind starting to build out of the SW straight down the beach... could it be a 24M day?

what'you mean lake? can't see from pic..

skimtwashington - 23-10-2012 at 09:36 AM

Is the hard pack riding strip..uhhh...water covered in one area?

Taake some video of the fun we're not having yet! 24m? :o:o

Todd - 23-10-2012 at 03:00 PM

It is a lake (water covered in one area and you need to steer clear of it... quick sand :( ) In front of the convention center it is much worse. It was a short lived 24M day with the wind on and off. Dodd was rolling along nicely on the hard pack.

Bad news of the day is that there was construction equipment in front of Mories Peir. Picture to come soon after I BBQ up some grub

shehatesmyhobbies - 23-10-2012 at 04:17 PM

You know what this means, I gotta get more permits! With the winds that are forecast, it will be more side on and almost straight down the beach. We have made out fine with that several times. We can always go south as far as we can if we get an onshore day! Plenty of good riding down there, ask Michael!

Can't wait to see you in the am bro!

WELDNGOD - 23-10-2012 at 04:48 PM

More bad news ...... By Monday you could have a hurricane off the Jersey coast. Some models are puttin it there, just a heads up. Be safe ,have fun!

Todd - 23-10-2012 at 05:40 PM

Thanks D we're watching! Here is 24M of thunder

Todd - 23-10-2012 at 05:50 PM

OK more than likely what's going on around the pier is the RV park. There are lights on the beach tonight in this area so another area to avoid up top. Looks to be the hard pack is still where its at.

shehatesmyhobbies - 23-10-2012 at 06:07 PM

I am so going to have fun with that PUDDLE! Can't wait to hook into that 24

lad - 23-10-2012 at 06:23 PM

We need another little, bumpy DUNE RUN near the pier to jump n' launch over again! :singing:

Todd - 23-10-2012 at 06:27 PM

I'll talk with the construction guys

lad - 23-10-2012 at 06:39 PM

Heck, I bet we could take up a little collection to bribe them! :frog:

shehatesmyhobbies - 23-10-2012 at 06:57 PM

Lad you must have heard me talking to myself a little bit earlier! I was thinking out loud to myself, I said Self, where the heck is Lad, how come he hasn't chimed in, then voila, here you are posting! I knew you wouldn't miss out!

shortlineflyer - 23-10-2012 at 07:00 PM

so where will we be in relation to the hotel

shehatesmyhobbies - 23-10-2012 at 07:06 PM

We set up right on the beach at the end of Rosemary one block from the Hotel. It is a quick walk down to the beach. Not far at all. We will be setting up right by the dunes so no serious gear drag to the bottom of the beach! Trust me we make it as easy as possible!

lad - 23-10-2012 at 08:33 PM

Rich,
I gotta lotta life distractions going on lately...but getting stoked about the BB...dunno how long I can stay over there, tho...

shehatesmyhobbies - 24-10-2012 at 02:48 PM

Great little cross on session today.

There is a little dyke that WW created down about half way between fishing pier and the coventiin center. So be careful and only gi down there on low tide. They put the dyke in to clear water off the top of the beach

cheezycheese - 24-10-2012 at 03:12 PM

Todd - 25-10-2012 at 05:01 AM

Well looks like Sandy will be a big player on Sunday... maybe a 9M day perhaps

Report as of yesterday... The Canadians road and road hard as well as Rich putting in numerous miles on the Phantom 18 his go to kite. Today shows to be 10mph out of the east and will prove to be a 24M day.

Time to grab some ripstop

shehatesmyhobbies - 26-10-2012 at 08:27 PM

Todays winds were pretty decent, out of the NNE, 15mph. Small group went to North Beach and got some hard pack riding in, the rest stayed out in the normal riding spot for some great cross beach riding. The soft sand is now all hardpack and some boarding was done against the odds.

For those that are planning to come for Saturday and stay on Sunday, please be advised that a mandantory evacuation may be ordered on Sunday. As of now they are closing the island down at 9pm Sunday. That is subject to change. A voluntary evacuation is now in effect for all island areas in Cape May county. I will be posting any changes to this as soon as I get the info. Also hear that the ferry will be shutting down early Sunday morning. Please watch here for any updates!

BeamerBob - 26-10-2012 at 08:42 PM

6m phantom time coming up! Be safe guys.
