Help me spend some money

Kamikuza - 25-10-2012 at 08:51 PM

Paypal are being dicks (long story) so I want to spend the money in my account before they screw with me any more...

So... I could buy a North Nugget and nothing else or...

A winter wetsuit, gloves, boots and another summer one and a GoPro3 or...

What?

I think any kites (that I want) are out of budget... I was hoping to sell off my 2010 Crossbow and maybe something else then get a CE Flysurfer but I don't want to leave money in the account that long...

kitedelight - 25-10-2012 at 09:39 PM

wait some, sell the xbow and get the p5 when it comes out and tell us all about it. :)

Kamikuza - 25-10-2012 at 11:30 PM

I need a P4 to compare it to :D

Kamikuza - 26-10-2012 at 02:13 AM

Not to be privy, but what is PayPal doing to your account?

Gah...

Told me that for security reasons, I need to send in ID so they can verify my account - the one I've been using for years
They've capped my sending limit to US$1,000 and after 45 days, I won't be able to receive payments.
We're having arguments over what form of ID is acceptable - Jappos can use any regular accepted IDs (drivers license, insurance cards etc) and blank out any info they don't want to share (eg. next of kin, organ donor status) but us dirty gringos have to supply our Alien Registration cards, complete with all details.

Turns out Japanese government has decided they're a financial institution like a bank and so they need to get proof of name, DOB and address for their customers - found that out through other channels though.

The IDIOTS who man the phones at PP and run the email  I'm had more intelligent conversations with a cauliflower.

Ok back OT...

6/5/4 with built-in hood, or 5/4/3 designed for kiteboarding with a separate hood?

martinipro - 27-10-2012 at 05:37 AM

Get a Nugget!!! Im getting my 2012 today! :P

Kamikuza - 27-10-2012 at 05:59 AM

Well YOU tell us if it's worth it :D

joedy - 27-10-2012 at 09:35 AM

Yikes! I'd be getting my funds out of there too.

Good idea to spend it on some kiting gear.

Kamikuza - 28-10-2012 at 03:57 AM

I bit the bullet got the Hyperflex Amp3 6/5/4 wetsuit, a Cyclone2 3/2 to replace my Access that is starting to rip at the back, some XCEL gloves and boots (fleece lined!) and some wetsuit shampoo :D

Hey enough left for a GoPro3? Maybe :D now the question is - do I need 60fps at 1080?

AD72 - 18-12-2012 at 06:28 PM

How do you like your Nugget Martinipro? How well do you tack on in?

Now you're teasing... couple of hours after he spent most of his paypal $$$ and you offer up a killer new kite!

martinipro - 18-12-2012 at 08:21 PM

Im a little ashamed to admit i have not used it yet...

I blame the hurricane.
Im not too confident yet so I am hesitant to try it on deep spots, never used a directional before and have only done minimal surf.

AD72 - 18-12-2012 at 10:50 PM

Ok report back when you have given it a go. I hope to demo one in Los Barriles next month.

Kamikuza - 19-12-2012 at 03:08 AM

You're all a bunch of rotten buggers

I sorted out the paypal issues - basically, they're morons - and now have some more cash to blow... thinking about the Nugget again :o

I want a 10m S4 but don't think I need one - I rarely get to use the S3-12 :(

Because of the wind.... or your "cushioning" ? ;-)

Kamikuza - 19-12-2012 at 05:06 AM

Bit of both :) I've got a 7m I've never used :( and I rarely use my ten and don't ever remember being over-powered on it... le sigh!

... might be a different story if I get a Nugget though :D

My Granny used to tell me about "cushioning"...

"That just means that you've got more to love!"

Good to hear that you've got Paypal straightened out.

Feyd - 19-12-2012 at 08:56 AM

"Nugget" is kind of an unfortunate name. My dogs drop what we call "nuggets' every morning like clockwork.

Just sayin'

martinipro - 19-12-2012 at 09:31 AM

Haha Feyd, I've had the "nugget" discussion with a few people already.
I personally think the name works for the board and I like it!

@AD give it a go and let us know. At this point I think it will be March/April before I get to try mine.

Kamikuza - 19-12-2012 at 05:52 PM

You seen the graphics on the 2013? It is absolute nugget.

martinipro - 20-12-2012 at 06:12 AM

That is why I went with a 2012

Feyd - 20-12-2012 at 10:15 AM

Man, you guys make me laugh.:bouncy:

herc - 20-12-2012 at 11:43 AM

damn - i am too late here in the thread ;)

would have suggested the new peter lynn lynx depower foil - its interestingly nicely priced (almost as cheap as the zebra slope - only 500 € for the 9 sqm )
