for some reason I assumed you were hammered and was going to say "Gin on the way out....does not taste good" something along those lines at least:PB-Roc - 26-10-2012 at 06:47 PM
So I guess a 7m Sherpa is out of the question?
I just got my 4.5 yeti back from an extensive (and successful) round of bridle/mixer mods. Glad I had that done to make it more of an Eskimo as it
looks like there will be no further development beyond that.
For those that never flew or owned Gin this is truly a bad day in kiting. Excellent craftsmanship with superior safety systems. Quality and
innovation all around. I talked to them just last month about the totally new / revolutionary trailing edge/mixer design in the Sherpa but I guess
we'll never see it. Very sad.
It would be nice as a parting gift to those who invested in their technology if they posted their bridle plans so we could repair / replace stuff as
it fails. Doubt that is going to happen though.
They should have just stopped developping foils at the Eskimo III. That kite was perfect (after you added a landing strap and shortened the rear
leader by 3").shaggs2riches - 26-10-2012 at 10:24 PM
I never flew a Gin, but thought they were becoming a strong name
that was gonna continue to grow.Bladerunner - 27-10-2012 at 10:50 AM
OMG ! Now Kenney has moved from Killing Wind to killing kite companies !
Why oh why did I ever buy a GIN ! :duh:
Seriously though. It is a real shame to see a top quality company like Gin close shop. There are so few choices for foil folks already. I have a
feeling PL will have every bit as much trouble cracking the LEI market. We can mourn Gin's loss but North America didn't exactly go out of it's way to
support this fine company.
I'm afraid the final runners in the foils business will be the novelty kite companies and hopefelly one or 2 companies dedicated more to the sport
than making money ?
LONG LIVE FLYSURFER !!!!!!!

Maybe like Begos or JOJOs they'll appreciate more in value now that they can't be obtained
