Looks Like Sandy "changed" Jersey shores. My heart goes out all that suffered Sandy's destruction. If anyone can share news or need help with
"AnyThing"! Please give me an email regarding your situation. I'm not sure how roads are getting back to Wildwood. I just made it across bridge before
completely flooded Sunday morning. I have no power or phone on Long Island but I managed to use others with service. My PC works on backup so any info
on damage or help needed will be read daily. My prayers go out to all that had misfortune. I hope to hear from everyone soon. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwcnDzcOuTAflyjump - 31-10-2012 at 03:23 PM
What!!?? Gone forever?lad - 31-10-2012 at 03:56 PM
Dude, Wildwood had plenty of beach to start with, and is/was the only beach which was gaining sand every year!
So, unless there was some drastic upset of the whole shore system, it'll be back!flyjump - 31-10-2012 at 04:34 PM
Whew! I cant imagine never being able to fly out there againWIllardTheGrey - 31-10-2012 at 04:38 PM
I'm sure the spirit will rebuild a much better beach from what I see already. Seeing the roller coaster and Ferris wheel being pelted with waves and
no more beach is sad......I know we'll be back 2013 and see a new future for the next generation to enjoy. Change is always for the better but I can't
see it getting the history back. I will be helping a number of local friends that lost there house completely from surge. I will post what is now the
last images of boardwalk or jersey shore as soon as I edit clip & post. I took a ride from north beach to Wildwood Crest along the shore Saturday
not knowing it's fate. We;ll be back ,Bigger and better than ever...Just watch! Thanks for the great time everyone provided....another one for the
record books for sure! Any news that can be shared ...PLEASE...even hearsay regarding the gang would make me feel better. I'm wondering about Fran
Gramkowski in Brigantine, anyone hear anything? My phone and email is iffy at best. I'm amazed at how that newswomen can stand there and say they
escaped destruction. I bet she's sitting high and dry in her little cozy condo while I see the pier torn apart with my own eyes. Sad excuse of so
called journal reporting......Media news is a joke these days. shehatesmyhobbies - 31-10-2012 at 08:16 PM
Crash, Wildwood is going to be fine. I was getting updates and pictures all throughout the storm, Cape May got hit pretty hard, Wildwood did pretty
good, North Wildwood had a lot of water on the roadways and in town, but the most devistation that I saw and I think it may be what you saw, was to
Atlantic City. There the boardwalk was washed out. Sand was on the streets three blocks from the beach. They got hit the hardest I think in NJ. Either
way, non of the storm was good for NJ.
But I am pretty sure that Wildwood will be good come Spring. There might not be a whole lot of off season running before then, but I can be patient!
I will contact Joe tomorrow and see if he can do a ride by and check it out and snap a photo or two!treblehook - 31-10-2012 at 08:42 PM
Yeah, I see the boardwalk mostly got hit with rides and stuff. I still can't get over the job yall did with making a really cool weekend. Cheezy and
myself were reflecting back a few years when it was only like six guys. Next year, wait till you see what I bring ....I'm breaking the trailer out for that one. Rich, I can't say enough about how relaxed but at the same time, not
enough time to take it all in. My pal and me plan every year till I'm in the pine box my friend....next year the wife and daughter are joining.....he
he, your photographer and sushi chef and there pretty good at it. Can't wait till next year! You will make a showing when we post a date for the
airport hoo ha right? I provide food, music, seating and shade so just bring ya gear and enjoy the day with three runways to choose from....granted
theirs wind LOL. I need to tally up what I need before calling my new supplier for gear..." East Coast Kite Sports"....... GREAT group of guys for
sure! ............Oh ,and that would be Sea Side with the rollercoaster. Thanks for sharing those pics.shehatesmyhobbies - 1-11-2012 at 03:28 AM
I just saw a picture that was taken just down from the fishing pier we were were riding by. It doesnt even look like a hurricane struck. I will post
it up when I get home.BEC - 1-11-2012 at 04:07 AM
Don't hold me to this 100% but I believe that is the Roller coster ride from the pier/boardwalk in Seaside NJ..I grew up there and moved to VT when I
was 13.
My Dad still lives there (Brick/point pleasant)..
They got slammed!shehatesmyhobbies - 1-11-2012 at 10:04 AM
Here is a video that Mike found, it shows at the 2 minute mark, the Shalimar (the hotel just to the left of the Tennis courts) still standing, as well
as the boardwalk and Morey's Pier and rides still standing.
So Glad our favorite playground is still there! Lots of work to be done for sure, but all is going to be well again!BEC - 1-11-2012 at 10:28 AM
Good News but thoughts and prayers going out to all those up north of Maria's place. If I can help anyone with something and it's feasible let me
know....
buying generators/heaters etc and driving them down to anyone etc.....or it's a 8 hr drive up here to Rochester NY and I can hook someone up with a
spare room and possibly some work till things turn around....This will make you a dog/kid sitter for room and board...lolCrash then swim - 1-11-2012 at 11:28 AM
I think the worst of the storm missed Wildwood. The following link is to the NOAA satellite image after the storm from a satellite pass on 31 October
2012.
I am glad everyone made it out safely and Owen and I look forward to the spring.kiteplace - 1-11-2012 at 01:24 PM
I talked with some friends that live in Wildwood and all is well.
Sandy was not much worse than a high, high tide.
Going to check it out first hand tomorrow.
Winds are supposed to be NW 20 to 25, low tide is a bit late at 4:45 but should be able to get 4 to 5 hrs. of good riding in.
Winds look good for Saturday and Sunday too.

There are a lot of videos here - filmed from a helicopter slowly flying over and zooming in on a number of different locations along the Jersey
shore.Wildwood looks okay but places like Seaside and Ortley have a lot of destruction. there are many pages of videos and just be aware that once in
a while when you go back and forth to the link page you will get a page not found message - try again and it will be there.
Around 2:00 - 2:07 I think is the area of the ShalimarCrash - 1-11-2012 at 04:50 PM
I been following and you are exactly right guys. It's Seaside's amusement park and "Not" Wildwood ....although jersey shores need a lot of help
rebuilding... we shall be there even if it was wiped away. Sand returns and if Shamilar is gone , my trusty refrigerator box is nice and cozy.
