So I managed to get a another snowkite session this morning. Winds 20km/h-28km/h using 12m speed 2. It started decent other than my gopro dying while
setting up. Made some great passes across a 1/4 section of land. Pulled off a few 4-6foot jumps on my comfy side, and one on my not great side.
Completely out of shape, I was getting tired and decided one more run and I'd pack up. I was half way out and leaning to forward my nose dug under the
snow. Kite pulled me supermaned forward and rotating backwards. I fell on my back and my chickenloop managed to come undone, kite flagged out on fifth
line. I struggled to get my board off, and got everything going again. Riding back in my nose dug in again and I supermaned and landed on my back from
maybe 3feet up. Kite only fell nose down needing reverse launch. Recovered rode back in and landed the kite. Normally I will land and walk to the kite
on one rear line, but this time I decided the unhook and let the kite flag on safety, so I could anchor it to my board. When I let to of the bar, I
hadn't realized my leash came undone probably in one of my falls. The kite started blowing away all I could do was swear and run for it. It only blew
50 or so meters and stopped thank god. I secured everything and found my lines got crossed somehow, it took almost 45minutes to get straightened
before I packed everything away. So other than a potential lost or damaged kite, I learned a lesson to stop every now and then and make sure my gear
is still connected properly. Even though I'm thorough when setting up, stuff can come loose or unhooked when you fall. Otherwise it was a fun session
and can't wait for the next one!!
Stay safe

You mean like losing your keys?! :frog:
Sounds strangely familar to my earlier post this week- the kiting Gods are mad at us!

Must be that time of the month.
For me I'd like to blame a more or less over half year without kiting, but I know there's more to it . Funny you mention the keys cause I went back to
my Pathfinder and my keyless remote entry completely stopped working on me. First time in three years that I had to use my key to unlock it. New
batteries in remote and its still shot. I bet Nissan will have a hayday with my pocketbook to fix it. ;-)

Hey Shaggs you been out since that first debacle? Wondering how the snow is holdiong up and living vicariously through your exploits at the moment.

Nope just the two times now. Worked last weekend but didn't seem to miss anything. Snow melted a bit this week, but still looks good. Found a Stubble
free field just outside of town, that I'm hoping to try. Looks like wind maybe Saturday.

Also I must say that I'm honored that you are living vicariously through my recent ventures. Once your season starts it will be the other way around
for sure. Not too many put on as many miles as you do, and with so much skill to boot!!!

Still it's two time more than any of us have gotten out. Really chompin at the bit here and getting a kick out of the early season stuff you
Canadiens have been getting. Also been getting stuff sent to me for late season in the southern hemisphere so getting to see all kinds of
perspectives.
Hopefully you guys wiil be out again and we'll be out soon in the east.:wee:

Oddly enough... you get better at untangling things too :o
Glad you got some kiting though - I'm going a bit spare here :ticking:

Glad to hear there was no major kitemares Shaggs.
I too live vicariously through your early season exploits and I have to say I will heed your warning about checking the safety leash.
I have lost the kite on water before when I got tangled in the lines somehow and was being draged powered up on my safety leash . Had to pull the leash release and watch my kite travel a Km down wind. Luckily
I had a boat assist and we raced the kite down the channel.
Can't wait till we get some snow in Ontario. Its was still 20 degrees celsius on the weekend
Keep posting

That's right Kami!
What would have taken an hour to untangle before now only takes me a few minutes.
Its the worst part of foils but its a nessisary evil:evil:
