Hi all

I got way out from starting point with 7.0 Meter Bullet Flexifoil, then wind picked up to maybe 20ish, the ground was hard as a rock ( I am useto beach skating) found it pretty hard to control the kite, mainly very hard to slow down... besides going upwind how can a situation like this be controlled?

I was trying to keep the kite high, to keep it out of the power band but it seemed to dip down allot becasue of gusty/dirty wind.

Nice and bruised today heh..

Thanks Rich

First, cut a steep skating line upwind...

Then, if the wind is smooth, you can fly the kite up and slightly behind you (the opposite side of the wind-window). The kite will act as a brake. But never, EVER try this if it's gusty!

In gusty/high wind conditions, it's best to use a smaller kite. If you're far from your starting point, you may want to consider rolling up the kite and skating back.

Where were you kiteskating? Folks are heading to El Mirage soon:
