Don't get a harness to start nor should you buy a board right away. Your best bet is to start off with something slightly larger then your symphony. Step up into perhaps one of the smaller beamers. Get use to flying it, practice flying the kite the way you should while on a board before getting a board, then get a board. If you know how to fly the kite then get a board it'll make the learning experience a bit smoother. If you get a board and kite (that you've never flown or know little about how it flies) then you're only asking for frustration and hurt.
If after you get the board you decide to get a harness then go for it, but they aren't something you need to fly on a board.
Hope this helps,
Joe

wow £300. You dont need to spend that much. If i was you id get what i am getting, im probably same build as you (im 14). And ive been advised by a shop to get a Flexifoil Sting 1.7 meter 2006 versoin. Its only like £100. Then you have £200 to upgrade in the future when you grow a bit more.
