I need a cheap (or free) arc to test some mods on. Any model or size will work, it just needs to fly. Knifeing into my Venom 13m, my only depower,
doesn't seem like a good idea.
The main mod I want to test is an anti-inverting and antie bowtieing mod. If it works, the kite should uninvert and unbowtie itself automaticly.Heres

Really? No one has an old arc that they would sell? I guess I will have to use my venom. If I decide to use my venom, I should have the results
tomarrow. And how do you make an arc invert and bowtie on purpose?

which mod were you thinking of doing to prevent and correct inversions and bow ties? I have never seen a mod yet that would undo a bow tie or even
fully prevent one. Most bow ties happen when the kite isn't fully inflated but they do occur sometimes in extremely gusty conditions with swirling
backwind.
Saw your post on arc users and you were talking about possibly punching holes to make a mod. Just remember the kites like to be as airtight as
possible when inflated so punching a hole to make a mod is okay if you are then doing some mod and sealing the kite. But if you leave a hole for
something to adjust and move it will leave an opening to bleed air.

The mod involves sewing through the fabric of the kite. I decided to test on my venom and am about halfway finished. I will test it tomarrow an post
my results.

Peter Lynn and gang were playing with a mod at NABX. It was sort of a 3 point bridle on the leading edge like an SLE ?
I few models have come out since those tests and the closest they have come is the Y in the original Navi' bar front lines ?
Bow ties and inverts happen less and less as you get on top of what is making them happen. Bow tie is most often under inflation. I have pretty good
luck rolling inverts out. With my 07 bar even if I roll out wrong I can pass the bar through the centre using auto zenith . The things you are trying
to fix aren't big enough issue to me that I would cut up a good kite ?

Mark is right about gusty effects on Arcs but a lot of those effects can be anticipated and dealt with after a lot of practice I think. There are
always exceptions tho. And like Mark and B.R. said underinflation is what most sets an Arc up for bowtie. How the pilot responds and deals with an
underinflated Arc is critical with avoiding bowtie, balancing back/front line pressures, getting air into the vents w/o front end collapse.
In my expirience most bowties, my own included are mostly due to pilot error. The best way to avoid bowtie is to inflate the Arc fully followed by
learning to recognize a bowtie before it happens.
Then learning how to get a bowtie resolved if it does happen. The splitline on the Navi bar makes things considerably more difficult.
Curious to see your results. Again my concern is how a mod effects gust handling. Unless you've really been flogged by gusty wind s on a regular
basis it's hard to really appreciate how well an Arc deals with the chop. :roll::roll::roll:

I tested today in some light wind. It made the kite more resistant to luffing. I got it to invert and it didn't undo its self. The made some
adjustments and tryed launching the kite inverted. It uninverted the kite but made the tips close and not open again (like the charger). It handled
gusts poorly and flew badly. I didn't have enough time to fine tune it but I'm hopeing I can find a balance.

I believe I have an idea of what the mod is and how it works but I don't want to say anything if you don't want anyone to know what you did yet.
