What in the hell are those guys flying at the end of the film? They look positively unmanageable :).

Those kites at end of film..

skimtwashington - 3-12-2012 at 04:30 PM

Are Paraski Flex kites. They are not unmanagable. Certainly not the most manageable, and not the most popular-for sure. But they are well suited for snow and ice and lots of fun. Big around Canada's east region(Quebec).

You see a few cruising away and a few struggling. The latter are the newbies. A single skin with a carbon rod leading edge(as opposed to an LEI single skin's INFLATABLE leading edge) . Also similar to a Peter Lynn C-Quad kite.

Side note: Advantage of non-foil, single skin kites in snow? You dont have to deal with getting snow inside the cell of foil kites to weigh it down..having to shake it out.

Need more winter kite film stokes, Kober!

Great vid!

My stoke is @ 11 right now. (That's one more than 10)

Need... some... SNOWW!!! (Oh and wind would be nice :D)

Man that was a great video. No BS just really good riding and wicked good vibe! Looked a lot like the fields around Montreal and upper Champlain Valley?

We were discussing in another thread the Para Skis. A kite is a sail on a on lines away from the sailor right? I've seen what skilled Para Ski riders can do and it's pretty amazing. The things are fast, lifty and if things get out of hand you just lay 'em down and absolutey zero power. Some of the high AR race styles are so razor thin I can't believe they can fly.

Anyway, thanks for sharing the vid Kober. It's refeshing to see a bunch of riders just out playing, riding and having a good time.

Paraski Flex-one kite quiver

skimtwashington - 5-12-2012 at 06:39 AM

(Feyd...What thread?)

If ever there was a kite that tried to be a one kite quiver it was the ParaSki Flex(the new line has changed a bit).

I know about these because it was my first kite and used on ice and snow.

My F05-30 model had a zipper that could change kite size and had 4 different 'manipulations'/ modes to fly it.... including folded 'taco' style pictured below!:o

A range of 5-38mph!

A brief thread hijack until Kober finds another video to add more stoke...!.......: MORE VIDEOS, PLEASE!

Ok..I'll add a feel good snowkite video...

skimtwashington - 5-12-2012 at 06:58 AM

Feyd - 7-12-2012 at 02:52 PM

Man ZG those things look wild. And that vid of the guy on the homemade board thing with the kite looks amazing.

I don't have the tech savy to post a vid for some reason but here's a like to something I through up on the tube today. Just some footage of a few of us playing around last season.

Feyd ..... This is you best video so far ..... good job ... I really like it ....

crabnebula - 7-12-2012 at 06:30 PM

Feyd..I like this last video here the best as well, it leaves me wondering why we have such a slow start to the season...as I am ready to get out on the big wide open lakes and just cruis around draggin fingers in the snow.....soaking in the sun under the tension of the kites pull....oh man not soon enough!

skimtwashington - 7-12-2012 at 11:23 PM

it's a loooong way from Winnepeg to Quannapowit...

Feyd - 12-12-2012 at 05:48 AM

That was great. The dialog echoes what we tell people time and again why we snowkite and its awesome to have the footage as the message is expressed.

Kober - 12-1-2013 at 03:36 PM

OK .... This video belongs in this post ....

It make me FEEL SO GOOD ..... lol ..... choosing right bit make all the difference ....
