flexifoil headset

BEC - 30-11-2012 at 11:35 AM

Does anyone know where I can still purchase the plastic spacers for the headset for front fork for a flexifoil buggy. It's kinda like UHMW..cutting board stuff.
Thanks,
B

Those would be nylon bushings. Not sure where you may be able to pick them up. I know the local hardware store here does carry some.

Rich is right on target. Most good hardware stores such as Ace, Homely tepot, lowest quantities and so on have drawers of these spacers. Vary handy indeed.

Really? I guess they are the nylon bushings...They are driving me nuts...creaking and squeeking all the time. Sounds like I dropped a mouse down there. They have a flange though I believe. I'll look into it...thanks

Just so we are on the same page...These are the plastic things (internal) that have the 1 bolt holding my fork to the downtube.

Yes, kind of looks like a little white hat. Would have a flange on one end, and a cylinder on the other end.

You can try and put some white lithium on there to quiet them down till you get new ones.

im not kidding...... olive oil has not squeaked in a yr

Yeah those off white things.. one looks like a top hat the other as you described...I tried that trick (lithium) but....it lasted about 2 kiting sessions...I will look for them at home depot etc. THANKS!

Also tried Dupont dry lube (teflon) that worked for a while too...Great stuff..not oily and sand doesn't stick to it...good for bearings too.

With Sundried tomatoes, capers, onions, artichock hearts and a box of pasta

I will give it a whirl...we have a gallon of the stuff on the counter.

Scudley for what it's worth I bought a wide axle from them and have talked with. Chad the owner seems like a stand up guy

Scudley - 1-12-2012 at 11:17 AM

Flyguy, I did not intend to slight Chad in any way. I've just been too lazy to order the head set, mine's squealing worse than Ned Beatty in Deliverance.
Not that I will be buggying in the near future.
