Bigfoot wheels wanted

rpriegu - 5-12-2012 at 08:00 AM

Hello everybody!!
I'm looking for some new Bigfoot light wheels.
Please could you let me know who sell them?
First, I'm interested on sellers that would ship international since I live in Argentina and the Bigfoots are very difficult to find here. If not possible, I'd ship to a friend in the US who later will send them overseas.
Thanks in advance and regards
Ramiro

Welcome, glad to see you here on PKF.

looking for wheels, or wheels and tires?

rpriegu - 5-12-2012 at 08:39 AM

Hello Jeff!
Nice to talk to you again!! I'm thinking about the whole set (tire, wheel, bearings and maybe tubes).
I thought about the possibility of using some Nanco N800 21x12.00-8 summer tires http://autoparts.pricegrabber.com/auto-tires/Nanco-N800-21x1200-8-2PR-SLICK-Summer-tires/m1004594047.htmland try to find a local provider for the rims and bearings, but not sure if those tires would do the job whell. What you think?
Regards
Ramiro

Hey Ramiro
According to the Peter Lynn web site there is a dealers just outside Buenos Aires (La Lucila, Vicente Lopez) - contact Guillermo.

http://peterlynn.com/find-kite-shop-and-school-locator/

He may have some or could order directly to Argentina as another option. His info is on the site with a n email address and web site but the web site didn't load when i clicked on it.

I use the nanco n800's and they are fine. They have a slightly larger footprint than the PL tires. I have mine mounted on 4" wide rims. When I bought mine I paid $33 a tire then the price shot up. Don't know what they go for now...

Here is what they look like mounted.

I just saw your link. I would grab those at that price...!!

great price, but shipping will raise the cost past double, not a good deal

rpriegu - 5-12-2012 at 10:15 AM

Mark,
Yes, I know Guillermo (He is a friend of mine) but He doesn't have any left.

cheezycheese,
What rims did you use to mount the tires? Do you have a link?

Jeff,
Yes. One of the main issues here is the shipping cost. :sniff: :sniff: My other alternative is to ask a friend to bring them when traveling, but tires are big and heavy, so it is very different than bringing a kite.

Regards
Ramiro

cheezycheese - 5-12-2012 at 10:47 AM

They are Sysmic 4"x8" rims. I will post a link later.

bigkid - 5-12-2012 at 11:15 AM

If you buy the tires and ship them only you can get them to lay rather flat. a box with 3 tires can be as small as 24x24x8. add the wheels and that box will be about 10x9x9.

cheezycheese - 5-12-2012 at 11:22 AM

Mine were shipped flat with no box. Just banded together.

Here is tha actual reseller of those tires......
http://ssl.delti.com/cgi-bin/rshop.pl?dsco=135&Cookie=pr...

$17.30 per tire shipping is what it would cost me if I was to get a set.....

You might want to plug in your info and see what the shipping cost would be......and that is just to get them from CA to WI......

rocfighter - 6-12-2012 at 07:15 AM

$41.23 to ship three of these to my house. of course it's the $102 for the tires that is the tough part!! But wouldn't TheKidd freak out to find these under the tree:wow:

rocfighter - 12-12-2012 at 06:10 AM

I went ahead and called these guys and ordered a set of three big foot tires, total price delivered $143.42. They told me 5-6 days to ship to my house. I ordered them on Friday they where here on Tuesday afternoon.
Man is Cameron gonna be happy on Christmas morning!! Thanks Goofball for the web contact.
BTW the website would not except my email so I called the number and a guy named Paul was very professional and helped me order the tires.

awindofchange - 12-12-2012 at 04:10 PM

I have them in stock and can ship internationally. Shipping is a bugger, but we can take care of you.

Hey Roc..

skimtwashington - 13-12-2012 at 08:38 AM

...Shhhhh! What if Cameron's lurking on the board here!

Hey ....didn't you get inner tubes to go with them? Don't you need inner tubes?

cheezycheese - 13-12-2012 at 08:45 AM

Mine are mounted tubeless. They are fine unless they sit for months then they need a top off. But no bead issues. My only complaint is that due to way they flatten the tire for shipping they have ripples in the sidewall. Nothing major though. If you look at the pic in the link Goof posted you can see it.

rocfighter - 13-12-2012 at 10:48 AM

Brian he hardly ever comes on here. He is to busy doing all the work around the house I can't do any more. And I think he has a notion that he may be getting them since he found them in he breezeway when the UPS lady left them. not good!! Also today they dropped off his new back axle I got from Crash then swim. He is gonna be a happy camper I hope!!

skimtwashington - 13-12-2012 at 08:16 PM

You have another front frork that will fit the big foot tire on his buggy............is this the same buggy he's been riding that's been 'straining' ?:puzzled:

rocfighter - 14-12-2012 at 06:09 AM

No Brian no bigfoot front end as of yet. We will jump that hurtle when we come to it. I may just make one this winter. OR I could use the third tire on my buggy:frog:
